Southport Line - just three!Hi does anyone know is there’s some 507s going around today?
64382s motors are really loud when it’s trailing, loudest I’ve heard so farSlightly OT - still about beautiful PEP noise though.
If it's any consolidation, the final few weeks of 313s service, they were often "thrashed" out of Havant towards Farlington Junction - and they screamed like a Formula 1 engine!
What are the workings for this thursday (11/06)

As for the others and locations, mmmm not sure but 507001 (KD), 507003 (NB), 507017 (BN) which leaves 507016, 507018, and 507029 somewhere, currently not allocated / unavailable.
Is it known yet what the last day of normal service for the 507s is?It seems the likely dates for the farewell 507 tour will be either 22nd or the 29th September Subject confirmation from BRS, it will be after Merseyrail goes to the winter timetable of every 30mins on a Sunday due pathing problems running the tour and the 507's probably going into store/ standby status for the remaining weeks leading up to the tour so a senior member of Merseyrail management has indicated.
We don't even know tomorrow's (Wednesday) allocation, let alone Thursday! Allocation's usually only take place on the day. What are the workings for this thursday (11/06)
507018.What was the other 507 that derailed with 001 I’m assuming that’s not being repaired?
Last I heard (yesterday I think) it was on Birkenhead North having a new coupler fitted. What was the other 507 that derailed with 001 I’m assuming that’s not being repaired?
They've been going to Newport for scrapping with MAs, compressors etc still fitted. Any big parts like these will be overhauled units. They've been stripped of various other parts before being sent to Newport however. What happened to 016 while it was out? It’s been performing fine since it’s brand new motor alternator was fitted (does anyone know what pep the new alternator is ex from
Do we know when the last 2 will be delivered and what units numbers they areProbably swopped with a freshly overhauled unit, 023 had a compressor changed recently to prolong its life until the last two 777's are delivered to Kirkdale depot and the 507's can be taken out of service in September.
Also does anybody know what repairs 016 is currently getting?Do we know when the last 2 will be delivered and what units numbers they are
Take any two from the four that are not on Merseyside - 033, 035, 047 and 053.Do we know when the last 2 will be delivered and what units numbers they are
Good grief! That Shed still has cabside mirrors (visible on the excelllent video). Surely the crew could see all that billowing brake dust!035 will need new brakes / discs though!
Dragged with brakes on
It was reported elsewhere that it was the wagon in front of the 777 that had the brake dragging.Good grief! That Shed still has cabside mirrors (visible on the excelllent video). Surely the crew could see all that billowing brake dust!![]()
I am sure the units are piped through hence the pipes going into the cabs on the 777's , the wagon runners provide the brake force to stop the train the units are what are termed " Swingers" not braked. It was reported elsewhere that it was the wagon in front of the 777 that had the brake dragging.
Can't answer but when I saw it it was idling very loudly and creating a sort of smoke that was enough to make one of my kids cough. I know nothing about this type of EMUs so can't comment on what the likely fault was, but I've never ever heard a 50x sound anything like it. It then failed completely on its very next service. The dodgy vehicle was the driving vehicle at the Southport end.Any news on 016s repairs? And what it’s in for?
The only things that should be making a noise when the train is stopped are the compressor and possibly the motor blowers. The latter normally stop a few seconds after the train stops but they do keep going longer in hot weather. Can't answer but when I saw it it was idling very loudly and creating a sort of smoke that was enough to make one of my kids cough.
