507017 is on the Kirkby line today. There has been a time table change from today instead of 11 and 41 (Kirkby to Liverpool Central) it’s now 08 and 38 with a 5 minute pause at Fazakerley.
I think the times from Liverpool Central to Kirkby remain unchanged.

This timetable change (back to a 30 minute Sunday service from 03/09/23) has been in place since the change in May, but I agree that as a major event and good weather combined this could have been arranged in a better way, and hopefully with a six car operation.

Merseyrail's Journey Planner - backed up by Real Time Trains - suggests a return to an every 15 minute service from next Monday (18 September).
Example query / result below: Request is for trains from Kirkby to Kirkdale next Monday (18 Sept) at 0900. Response indicates services at 0913, 0928, 0943, 0958 & 1013
I had noticed that, but I was not sure if this will be a rolling time table change.
What I have also noticed is there are no trains from Kirkby this Saturday 16th September, I have not seen any notice about this yet on either National Rail or Mersey Rail websites.
Quite appropriate that some of its last workings should have been to New Brighton (where the Beatles played the Tower a number of times) and on the Chester line, as the first outing of the John, Paul, George and Ringo lineup was at Hulme Hall, Port Sunlight. All things must pass.
From a posting on the Mersey Railways 2.0 group on Facebook, the next few scrap moves are pasted below
A regular question so here is an update . 005 + 127 leaving BKN 1356 3/8 stabling in Crewe before onward to Sims on 4/08, 009 +138 leave 0956 17/08 straight to Sims, 026 + 126 leave 31st 0956 straight to Sims, 128 + 111 leave 0956 7/09 straight to Sims 117+130 leave 0956 11/09 straight to Sims , so by 12th Sept we will be down to a fleet of 35. 30 of these will be required for traffic each day, the remaining 12 x 508s will all be withdrawn by early December.
009 is on the Chester line this evening as I've just come home on it, likely my last trip on that one.....
If 508111/128 went to Crewe yesterday morning, rather than last Thursday as intended, meaning one scrap move was missed, do we still have 508117/130 to leave?
I must admit that I haven’t kept track of this very well.
It’s 12 September now so can we confirm that this is what has played out and we’re down to a fleet of 35, do we currently have a fleet of 37?

Bookings are now open on the Branch Line Society's website for a 508 farewell tour, 'The 5:08 Sunset' on Sunday 29th October. It includes the usual mix of rare track, sidings etc. that one expects of a BLS tour.
I bet it won't happen, but as the joint-first 508 in service, 508108 would be an excellent choice if available. Surely they don't intend to use the outdated face masked units on this?
507004 has been in service recently. I believe its currently stabled at Southport this weekend, with engineering works its not in use this weekend. Could well be in service tomorrow.
It did spend over 6 months out of service last year though.

Whichever ones they use, any takers for a quick revinyl of one/both into 1990's Merseyrail Yellow and /or 1980's BR Blue/Grey?
Would be a nice Gesture....
Just a thought for the

Interesting. I rode 141 114 and 108 on the Wirral and saw 010 in the wall sidings at New Brighton. A short stop at Sandhills later there were 011 017 and 130 on SOP-HNX and all OMS and KIR services seen were 777s.
>>> I travelled on 507004 on the 16.42 from Southport this afternoon.
Ta.
Anecdote warning
I passed 507004 on probably that train (Monday this is) .....
I was on 508136+508139 to/from Hunts Cross on 15:57 ex Southport / 17:06 ex Hunts Cross; I had been covering every train on the Southports, but, then, went silly: I had my SR SWD 508/0s moves notes with me, and, I had had 508036+508039 to Hampton Court, and out of and into Waterloo [London]; therefore the chance to do 508136+508139 in to and out of Waterloo [Mersey] was too much to miss. Especially as the 508/0s were a HC (Hampton Court) service and the 508/1s were another HC (Hunts Cross) service. The problem being to comply with pedantic OCD rules , I had to disembark there, and then later reboard them there on a different service: in and out on the same train not good enough. In doing that, I overlooked covering 507004 again and only remembered after got to hotel; the 40-50 mph wind gusts with horizontal rain were not conducive to go back out again at 20:30 - if you know where the Premier Inn is in Southport you know the walk there from Chapel Street station is somewhat exposed.
Picked up 507004 yesterday Tuesday; with the hotel in Southport, pole position to cover if it were working, which it was, on the 4th train I covered. Typical of course, I tripped over it again and had it a second time later in the day, right at the end, while drifting to Lime Street to leave the area.

I may well have seen either or both of you as I too had all of 508108 508114 508117 508124 508141 on Wirral yesterday, leaping on and off at Birkenhead North and Park and Central at random to see as much as practical as well as getting to Chester and New Brighton; if one of you was taking photos at Birkenhead North between trains after earlier at New Brighton, that was me there too. I was focussing on 508s moves, me being a SR type person, and that they go first. So did moves that rejected any 777, and kept 507 miles down to a minimum.
May prove to be my last 508/507 visit to Mersey; been up there 3 different occasions this year, can't see me doing it again no plans to eeeek out the last drops of them; I prefer to do my "last trips" with squadron fleets not the last hangers on.
I read it on Facebook from someone who works in the sheds at Birkenhead North a few weeks ago and got told by a driver and a guard on 001 the other week, that apparently, a heritage group has requested 001 from Angel Trains when it comes out of service next year. (So the same rumour now from 3 completely different members of staff).
Let's hope it all turns out to be true as I absolutely think 100% 001 should go into preservation what with being the 'pioneer' unit and also being the unit that the Queen travelled on in 1978.

Unfortunately I'm very sceptical about these sorts of claims. There was talk on Facebook that 508111 would definitely be getting preserved and there was a group set up to take it on - talk that continued right up until it got hauled off to Crewe the other week.
Does anyone know any more about this heritage group? I would like to find out more and support them if they are indeed a credible outfit.
After talking to big heritage at shore road last week they have no plans on another birkenhead attraction other than half a sub . The transport bus depot and the pumping station .
Needless to say, it would be fantastic if 001 were saved as the doyen (and a much better unit than 508111). However, we have to be very careful indeed about what is posted on certain Facebook groups given their track record. How many times was 111 wrongly declared withdrawn and wrongly declared preserved again?
As for where it would be stored, 313121 has found a home at Fife, so it doesn't have to be Merseyside.
