Thank you so much @Bikeman78
No worries. I went on all of them today so I knew exactly where they were.

507002 having another go at replacing a 777 tonight
2C36 was the culprit at Port Sunlight. It knocked 2C37 by eight minutes. Does it really take that long to get a failed 777 moving? On a 507 you isolate all the safety systems after five minutes and off it goes. Fair play to the crew on 2C49, going from eight late to two late.

Assuming it sticks to diagram, 507002 should finish on 5R41 to Rock Ferry. It should do 2Y00 0544 to Ellesmere Port. Meanwhile, 507010 finishes up on 5R40 to Birkenhead North depot.

507002 is on the Chester line; next departure from Liverpool Central is due at 12.45. 507010 is on the Ellesmere Port line, due just after 002 at Central, 12.52.

Plenty of delays on these routes following multiple 777 failures and a fire alarm activation at James Street.

507020 is making a very fleeting appearance on the Ormskirk line this evening following a 777 having a window smashed. It is just completing the 1934 Ormskirk - Liverpool now and is then scheduled to run empty back to Kirkdale.

I believe this is the first 507/8 on the Ormskirk line since Boxing Day, and the first to do the full line since 10th December last year.

Had a good sweep with various 507s on Wednesday and Thursday, mainly on the Southport line!

One observation…noticed several of them seem to have the Rheostatic braking tripped out and seem to be using the Air Brakes, so you don’t get the characteristic sound as the unit pulls into a station!!

I have it as 13 of the remaining 19 still have working rheostatic braking in at least one motor, but a good many of the drivers have taken to switching it off for a smoother ride.

It's definitely a great sound when in full voice. 002 was a case in point today: it sounded superb.

Saturday 24/02

'Celebrity' 507 watch:
507001 is on the New Brighton line, starting with the 07.38 from New B., repeating hourly.
507002 is on the Southport line, currently about to form the 07.57 Southport - Hunts Cross, repeating every 2 hours 30 minutes.

There is also a superb six-car formation of 507018 and 507029, the best two 507s left in my opinion. These are currently running the 07.42 Southport - Hunts Cross.

Today's Southport line units in full, starting with the 07.42 departure from Southport, are: 507018 + 507029, 507002, 507021, 507028, 507003, 507014, 507033, 507031, 507016, 507010. Stabled at Southport is 507020 following its jaunt to Ormskirk last evening.

The New Brighton line's 507s are: 507030 (07.53 from New B.), 507001 (13.38 onwards) and 507017 (11.08).

Nice to see Merseyrail's by-laws about feet on seats being so rigorously applied.

(Attached photo taken on 2121 Hunts Cross to Southport this evening)

Is this the first Sunday working of a Class 777 on the Southport line?

With the southport line now supposed to be 75 percent 777s from today ,would any kind person have the gen for which services the 507s are working today so as to be able to avoid the modern rubbish. (Asking for a friend).

Last week the 09:57, 10:12 and 10:42 from Southport were six cars so they are a good bet. Repeat every 2.5 hours.

There are now only 3 507 diagrams left on the Southport line, with these starting as 2U01 0537 Southport - Hunts Cross ex Southport Wall Siding, 2S02 0621 Hunts Cross - Southport ex Birkenhead North Depot, and lastly 2U00 0536 Sandhills - Hunts Cross and 2S03 following, ex Kirkdale Depot.

Later in the day, 2S63 2121 Hunts Cross - Southport terminates and then stables in the Wall Siding for the night, 2U69 2242 Southport - Hunts Cross terminates and then goes to Birkenhead North Depot to stable, with 2U70 2257 Southport - Hunts Cross terminating and the units going on to Kirkdale Depot for the evevning. During the day time, one 507 diagram is removed from the timetable for crew 777 training. These are the two units that form 5S13/5U39 to and from Southport CHS sidings.

Thanks for this information, seems a big increase in 777 operation of the Southport - Hunts Cross line. I wonder if the 4 Cars will cope with the demand on this line during the peak.
Were all the remaining 7 diagrams worked by a 777 today?

Yes. The 507s follow each other on the 1012/1042 departures. 1027/1257 are missing; the third pair comes back out for 1527. 507029 was on 1742 from Ellesmere Port.

Two 507s on the Ormskirk line today: 507014 and 507016. The latter is on a late diagram too, currently running the 19.46 Liverpool Central - Ormskirk despite an earlier hiccup.

Great to see some of the old guard back on this line; a tonic given the loss of three more Southport line duties.

There are 19 units left and no withdrawals will take place until April (around the time of the Grand National). With only 9 units in service planned until that time (based on no substitutions needed for 777s - unlikely at the moment), this leaves up to ten sat around out of service. We will probably see the ones unallocated sat at Southport, Kirkdale, Birkenhead North or New Brighton/West Kirby.

Southport Platform 1 and stabling siding looked complete last night, presume platform 3 and 2 next.
Wonder if there will be any 507s on Southports on Saturday/Sundays.
Hoping that there are some 507s on the Ormskirks today - anybody have full 507 allocs today please?

The other 507 formation on the Southport line comprised 507016 and 031; these have retired to the sidings. There was a spare six-car at Southport too in the form of 507003 and 033, but this has now gone into service with the 15.27 from Southport.

507014 is spare at Kirkdale, so if a 777 goes down on the Ormskirk line later, it could possibly deputise.

The New Brighton line has 507021 (XX.38 working), 507028 (XX.53) and 507030 (XX.08). Outside North Depot earlier was 507011 with graffiti now removed. This unit is now on the West Kirby line.

Reportedly three 507s on the Chester/Ellesmere Port lines in total.

The 507s on the Chester and Ellesmere Port lines today were 507018, 020 and 029. I travelled on 020 (E Port) from Central to Hooton, then 029 took me from there to Chester. A very welcome bonus was managing to capture 018 and 020 passing at Hooton for posterity.

Was on 018 this morning, good start to the day. Any reason to why there is 4 507s on the Chester/Ellesmere Port lines? Would expect 777s
