this would be my ideal icwc timetable, i know that now stock is not available so this is more of a fantasy one, having read other threads about the icwc timetables here is my suggestion.
which similar to pre VHF stops can be done on an alternating, basis so all if not most stops can have direct connections to most parts of the west coast.
e.g hour 1
From London
xx.00 To Manchester - watford, crewe, wilmslow, stockport
xx.03 Glasgow - milton keynes, coventry, international, new st, wolverhampton, crewe, warrington, wigan, preston, lancaster, oxenholme/penrith (alternating), carlisle, motherwell.
xx.08 chester/north wales - rugby, nuneaton, crewe, chester. then some extensions flint, prestatyn, rhyl, colwyn bay, llandudno junction, bangor.
xx.15 liverpool - crewe, warrington.
xx.20 manchester - milton keynes, stoke, stockport.
xx.23 wolverhampton/some extension to shrewsbury. watford, coventry, international, new st, sandwell & dudley, wolverhampton, with the extensions to shrewsbury - wellington, telford.

xx.40 manchester - stoke, macclesfield, stockport.

hour 2

xx.03 edinburgh - watford, coventry, international, new st, wolverhampton, crewe, warrington, wigan, preston, lancaster, oxenholme/penrith (alternating), carlisle, haymarket.
xx.08 chester/north wales - milton keynes, nuneaton, crewe, chester. as above stations onto holyhead.
xx.15 Liverpool - crewe, warrington
xx.20 - manchester - milton keynes, stoke, stockport.
xx.23 - wolverhampton/shrewsbury - milton keynes, coventry, international, new st, sandwell & dudley, wolverhampton, with the extensions to shrewsbury - wellington, telford.
xx.30 Glasgow -preston, lancaster, carlisle.
xx.40 manchester - stoke, macclesfiels, stockport.
xx.43 birmngham - rugby, coventry, international.
xx.50. Liverpool - watford, stafford, runcorn.
so watford, milton keynes both get a 2 hourly liverpool train as pre vhf, watford has a 2 hourly manchester train.combine the london-birmingham with birmingham to scotland as 1 through train then glasgow and edinburgh have connections to other places along the wcml.
nuneaton has a fast london train and onto north wales for decent connections at crewe aswell. and 2 trains an hour to scotland restoring 1 per 2 hours at motherwell lost by east coast not going through to Glasgow any more.
A fast Glasgow train.
this is based when the liverpool - manchester route will be electified
not exactly the clockface thing were used to now, not perfect by any means but we dont live in a perfect world.
so feel free to post any suggestions you may have.
