I love the idea that people make these changes, wait for you to post your update, read their errors, then fix them.
Not necessarily errors either, but workarounds for journey planners exhibiting unexpected behaviour, such as the addition of Milton Keynes Central as an excluded location for easements 701094, 702871, and 702872 - and for route "via Banbury" in the fares data - mentioned in post #1,554.

An easement was added to the routeing guide this morning.
Changes from 16 Aug 2023 (455) to 28 Aug 2023 (456).
Easement changes:
Added:
701124 (Fare route) During engineering works 27 August to 01 September 2023, journeys routed (00735) VIA STAINES will be valid for travel via Chertsey and Weybridge. This fare route easement applies in both directions
No trains are due to call in Staines until the 2nd, and SWR are running trains between Reading and Weybridge via Chertsey instead. This easement means that someone with a "via Staines" ticket can use the diverted trains.

The following post was created on 1st September 2023.

Some more changes were published in the routeing guide this afternoon.
Changes from 28 Aug 2023 (456) to 01 Sep 2023 (457).
Permitted Route changes:
Dorking Group (G10) to Lewes (LWS) gain CS+LB DK+VH+VB
This journey now has mapped routes:
via Clapham Junction; and
via Reigate and East Croydon.

In addition, 52 easements in the easements list have had the last one or two words deleted from them. For example, easement 700482 now reads 'Customers in possession of tickets routed "Bolton" may travel via Wigan North'. The text in the data file has not been changed.

This seems like a weird choice... via Reigate, sure, but then up to East Croydon and then back down to Lewes via Gatwick?

I assume this is to facilitate a change to Southern at Reigate rather than Thameslink at Redhill, which would presumably also let you make a faster journey if you're on the GWR North Downs that terminates at Redhill rather than Gatwick.

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

This journey now has mapped routes:
via Clapham Junction; and
via Reigate and East Croydon.
Where does via Reigate and East Croydon come into play here?

If we trace CS+LB, we get Dorking to Redhill, then we have to move to LB for either (a) Redhill - Gatwick - Three Bridges - Haywards Heath - Wivelsfield - Hassocks or (b) Redhill - Gatwick - Three Bridges - Haywards Heath - Wivelsfield - Brighton - Hassocks.

If we trace XC, it's all the way from Dorking to Lewes via the above two routes.

If we trace DK+VH+VB, we get Dorking to Clapham Junction, then move to VH for Streatham Group, then move to VB for East Croydon to Lewes via either Wivelsfield direct or Wivelsfield and Brighton.

I can't see a mapped route via Reigate, up to East Croydon, then doubling back through Redhill again to Gatwick and beyond.

I don't know how much you know, but a line on a routeing guide map represents any route between a station in one routeing point and a station in the other which does not pass through another routeing point on the way, or through another station which is labelled on that map, or through any station outside one of the routeing points more than once.

The XC map already covered Dorking Deepdene-Redhill-Gatwick-Lewes, so CS+LB doesn't add a lot more. It does include a line between Croydon Group and Redhill Group.

There are a few different routes between Redhill Group (Earlswood and Redhill) and Croydon Group. Most go through Redhill, but one which passes between Croydon Group and Earlswood without passing through Redhill involves going through Quarry Tunnel instead. These trains never stop at Earlswood as the track layout doesn't support it, but they are treated by web sites as going through the station. They don't pass through Redhill.

If you combine that route with one of the other ones, taking care not to double back through any station on the way, your journey can be Dorking Deepdene-Redhill-East Croydon-Earlswood-Gatwick-Lewes.

As it happens, the line through Redhill is closed next Saturday, meaning that some trains through Quarry Tunnel stop at Purley and Horley. I don't think this map combination helps too much as then are no trains through Dorking Deepdene either.

Wouldn't that be passing through Purley twice ? I think that both Quarry line and Redhill trains are timed there.

Journey planners definitely don't want to do this, though: https://trainsplit.com/results?From...054140P&adv:ib:Via=7053550P,7054780P,7054140P

You aren't allowed to pass through Purley twice for a journey which uses Dorking and Lewes as origin & destination routeing points. There are only 5 easements which mention Purley, and none of them help with that.

There are, I think, 4 routes you can take between Redhill and South Croydon which don't pass through any station on the way which is part of a routeing point. They don't all go through Purley station.

Of course - thanks - that makes sense now.

I'm struggling to think of a route from Redhill to South Croydon which doesn't go through Purley.

Given we know the TOCs all monitor this thread, posting a specific routing guarantees it will be removed and others then end up paying extra. I just wish people would think before posting as it's certainly not humourous if the route gets blocked. If you find a hack, be grateful and use it but don't post it on in detail here and specifically encourage the TOCs to block it. Surely you've seen others deliberately be vague to avoid losing hacks which are perfectly fine being closed.

A new version of the routeing guide was published this afternoon. The only effect is to reverse the changes made to the easement PDF on Friday.

The following post was created on 9th September 2023.

Some changes to the routeing guide were published yesterday.
Changes from 05 Sep 2023 (458) to 08 Sep 2023 (459).

Permitted Route changes:
Dorking Group (G10) to Lewes (LWS) gain DK+TN+VB lose DK+VH+VB
There are no longer mapped routes which go via Crystal Palace but avoid Tulse Hill.
There are now mapped routes via New Cross Gate.

It's not a new change, but it permits the route between Dorking and Clapham Junction which SWR trains use, not the one Southern use.
Easement changes:

Removed:

701102 (Fare route) During engineering works between the 21 and 24 August 2023, tickets from Worcestershire Parkway priced on (00807) VIA STROUD, (00808) READING STROUD INCLUDING LONDON, (00803) EVESHAM/STROUD, (00827) LONDON STROUD/EVESHAM, (00418) AP KEMBLE/SLOUGH and (00417 AP KEMBLE NOT LONDON will be valid via Yate, Cam & Dursley and Bristol Parkway for journeys via Swindon. This Local easement applies in both directions

701104 (Fare route) During engineering works between the 21 and 24 August 2023, tickets priced on (00807) VIA STROUD, (00808) READING STROUD INCLUDING LONDON, (00803) EVESHAM/STROUD, (00827) LONDON STROUD/EVESHAM, (00418) AP KEMBLE/SLOUGH and (00417 AP KEMBLE NOT LONDON will be valid via Yate, Cam & Dursley and Bristol Parkway for journeys via Swindon. This fare route easement applies in both directions

701112 (Fare route) Passengers travelling in either direction between Leeds or Newcastle and London with tickets on route 00076 (Via Peterborough) on 26th, 27th or 28th August 2023 may travel via Grantham and Bedford.

701113 (Fare route) During engineering works between 26 and 28 August 2023, when Rail replacement services will be in operation. Tickets priced on route (00430) LNER & CONNECTIONS will be valid via Grantham and Wellingborough but not Leicester. This fare route easement applies in both directions

701124 (Fare route) During engineering works 27 August to 01 September 2023, journeys routed (00735) VIA STAINES will be valid for travel via Chertsey and Weybridge. This fare route easement applies in both directions

Some more changed to the routeing guide were published yesterday.
Changes from 08 Sep 2023 (459) to 13 Sep 2023 (460).

Easement changes:

Added:

701124 (Fare route) During engineering works on the 01 and 08 October 2023; 05 November 2023; 11 to 17 November 2023. Tickets priced on route (00615) VIA GOMSHALL. Will be valid for travel via Clapham Junction. this fare route easement will apply in both directions.
No trains are scheduled to run through Gomshall on those dates, although the extent of the closure varies. This means that someone with (say) a "via Gomshall" ticket can avoid the buses.

The easement doesn't work for all journeys because of a separate diversion. Reading-London trains which would normally go via Barnes are diverted via Kingston instead. The diverted trains don't follow a mapped route. nre.co.uk show a Wokingham-Dorking "via Clapham Junction" ticket as valid if the itinerary only involves a change at Clapham Junction. It doesn't show a Wokingham-Gatwick "via Gomshall" ticket as valid because fare route easements are handled in a different way.

Changed (added sections in red, removed ones in green):
701122 (Fare route) During engineering works on the weekends of the 7/8 and 21/22 October 2023. Customers travelling on tickets priced on (00831) VIA BATH may travel via Swindon or Westbury. This fare route easement applies in both directions.

701123 (Map) During engineering works on the weekends of the 7/8 and 21/22 October 2023. Customers travelling on tickets priced on (00831) VIA BATH may travel via Swindon or Westbury. This map easement applies in both directions.
This removes the first weekend from each easement. As things stand, the timetable lists trains as running as normal between Bath and Bristol on the 21st, but not on the other dates in the original list.

On 1st October: The National Rail journey planner allows Wokingham to Twickenham by train, Twickenham to Clapham Junction by replacement bus, then Clapham Junction to Gatwick by train, on a Via Gomshall ticket.
The SWR journey planner allows Wokingham to Clapham Junction via Kingston, Clapham Junction to Gatwick, on a Via Gomshall ticket.

I've just asked this question in another thread but I'll ask it here so others might see it. Does South Western Railway ever modify the routing guide due to engineering works or do they prefer people to use the replacement buses?

SWR doesn't tend to be as proactive as GWR and other TOCs about this, yes.

An amended version of the routeing guide was published yesterday.
Changes from 13 Sep 2023 (460) to 15 Sep 2023 (461).
Easement changes:

This permits travel via Guildford (or via Guildford and Clapham Junction) with a "via Gomshall" ticket on the affected dates. It should make it a bit easier to find an itinerary for (say) a Fleet-Box Hill ticket (which happens only to be available with a "via Gomshall" route).

In addition, a lot of other easements have had the last word or two deleted from the text in the PDF files. Something clearly isn't working as it should.

And thanks, it is worth remembering that easements are interpreted in different ways by different booking sites. I usually look at nre.co.uk because it's more configurable than most.

The following post was created on 18th September 2023.

The deleted words were restored to the easement PDF today.

Some changes to the routeing guide were published last week. Sorry for the delay.

These were published on Wednesday:
Changes from 18 Sep 2023 (462) to 20 Sep 2023 (463).

Permitted Route changes:

Dorking Group (G10) to Lewes (LWS) gain SC+TN+VB SC+VB
This journey now has mapped routes:
via Sutton; and
via Tooting.

This permits use of the route Southern trains use between Dorking and London.

Map changes:

SC gains links between Balham and Croydon Group
This change only appears in the data file, not the online map. It adds a route between Balham and Croydon Group which doesn't go through (or isn't timed at) Clapham Junction, Mitcham Junction or Streatham Group on the way. I don't know the reason for this, but links like this have been added in the past for rail replacement buses.

Easement changes:

Added:

701125 (Fare route) When replacement bus services operate between Guildford and Gatwick Airport on 24 September 2023, 01 and 08 October 2023, 05 November 2023 and between 11 - 18 November 2023. Fares priced on route (00615) VIA GOMSHALL will be valid on these services. This fare route easement applies in both directions.
There are rail replacement buses on those dates which aren't scheduled to stop in Gomshall (or anywhere between Guildford and Gatwick). This easement lets you use (for example) a flexible Guildford-Gatwick ticket on one of them.

701126 (Circuitous Route) Customers travel from or via Hertford North to or via Abbey Wood are not `permitted to travel via Stevenage. This circuitous route easement applies in both directions.
This forbids journeys via Hertford North, Stevenage and Abbey Wood (as well as ones from or to Hertford North which go via Stevenage and Abbey Wood). It may be intended to stop a specific ticket from being used that way, but I don't know what sort of ticket it might be.

The last word or two was also deleted from various easements in the PDF file.

This was published on Friday.
Changes from 20 Sep 2023 (463) to 22 Sep 2023 (464).

701127 (Map) When replacement bus services operate between Guildford and Gatwick Airport on 24 September 2023, 01 and 08 October 2023, 05 November 2023 and between 11 - 18 November 2023. Fares priced on route (00615) VIA GOMSHALL will be valid on these services. This map easement applies in both directions.
This is a map version of easement 701125. I don't know what difference this will make.

In addition, the last words of various easements were restored in the PDF file.

Was there a change to stop Alsager to Nuneaton via Crewe? The booking engines I tried are no longer allowing it despite it being the fastest journey time at certain times of the day. I searched the last year of this thread but couldn't find anything.

I bet this (via Crewe), fails the historic NFM64 fares check.

Some more changes to the routeing guide were published yesterday.
Changes from 22 Sep 2023 (464) to 27 Sep 2023 (465).
Easement changes:
Removed:
701120 (Doubleback) During engineering work route closures between the 17 and 22 September 2023, journeys to or via Taunton may doubleback between Bristol Temple Meads and Bath Spa. This temporary doubleback easement applies easement applies in both directions
701121 (Map) During engineering work route closures between the 17 and 22 September 2023, journeys between the west country to or via Bristol Temple Meads can be routed via Westbury and Bath Spa. This map easement applies in both directions
These were temporary easements, and their dates have passed.

Added:
701128 (Fare route) Due to engineering works on Sunday 01 October 2023, rail replacement buses will operate to Manchester Airport direct from Bolton. Customers travelling to Manchester Airport whose normal rail route would be via Bolton on tickets priced on (00312) VIA MANCHESTER may use the direct rail replacement service. Customers from Blackrod, Horwich Parkway, Lostock, Bolton, Moses Gate and Farnworth traveling to Manchester Airport on tickets priced on (00318) METROLINK CTLZ may also travel on the direct buses from Bolton. This fare route easement applies in both directions.
There are no trains on Sunday between Manchester Oxford Road, Manchester Picadilly, Manchester Airport and Wilmslow. There are replacement buses between Manchester Picadilly and Wilmslow (as well as trains via Stockport), but not between Manchester Oxford Road and Manchester Picadilly. You are allowed to walk between the two stations then, but should allow 35 minutes for this.

There is a direct bus between Bolton and Manchester Airport. This easement lets you use it with a ticket from or to Manchester Airport with a "via Manchester" or "Metrolink Ctlz" route. It has no effect on (say) a Bolton-Styal ticket.

In addition to this, various easements have had the last word or two deleted from them in the PDF file again.

The following was posted on 30th September 2023.

Some more changes were published in the routeing guide yesterday.
Changes from 27 Sep 2023 (465) to 29 Sep 2023 (466).
Station Association changes:
Ashley Down (ASD) is now associated with Bristol Group (G05).
Station link changes:
Ashley Down (ASD) to Filton Abbey Wood (FIT) now has a distance of 1.93.
Ashley Down (ASD) to Stapleton Road (SRD) now has a distance of 1.00.
Non-NFM64 station changes:
Ashley Down (ASD) now uses NFM64 fares for Stapleton Road (SRD) (28/09/2023-)
This prepares a few of the things needed to sell tickets from or to Ashley Down.

The station is associated with Bristol Group, but not part of it. This may, in future, stop some tickets from permitting a double back between Bristol Temple Meads and Filton Abbey Wood.

In addtion, the words which were deleted from the easement PDF have now returned.

The following was posted on 4th October 2023.

A small change was published in the routeing guide yesterday.
Changes from 29 Sep 2023 (466) to 03 Oct 2023 (467).
Easement changes:
Changed (added sections in red, removed ones in green):

700408 (Circuitous Route) Customers travelling from Cleethorpes, Grimsby Town, Habrough, Barnetby or Scunthorpe to Newcastle, Chester Le Street, Durham, Darlington, Middlesbrough,Thornaby, Middlesbrough, Thornaby, Yarm, Northallerton, Thirsk, York, Malton, Seamer and Scarborough in possession of tickets routed "Any Permitted" may not travel via Manchester Stations. This easement applies in both directions.
This has had the spacing adjusted slightly. In the PDF, "Middlesbrough," and "Thornaby," now appear on different lines. The data for the easement has not been changed.

An updated version of the routeing guide was published yesterday.
Changes from 03 Oct 2023 (467) to 20 Oct 2023 (468).

Easement changes:

Removed:
This easement only worked on the 1st.

Added:

701129 (Fare route) During engineering works between the 23 and 26 October2023, tickets from Hereford, Ledbury, Colwall, Great Malvern, Malvern Link, Worcester Foregate Street, Worcester Shrub Hill, Worcestershire Parkway, Pershore and Evesham priced on (00799) LONDON EVESHAM and (00805) VIA EVESHAM for journeys to or via London, will be valid via Birmingham New Street for journeys via Watford Junction. Or valid via Birmingham Moor Street for journeys via High Wycombe. This fare route easement applies in both directions
There are no trains between Charlbury and Moreton-in-Marsh for Monday-Thursday next week, so this lets some people with "via Evesham" or "London Evesham" tickets avoid the buses. It affects travellers from stations between Hereford and Worcestershire Parkway inclusive. There are no "via Evesham" or "London Evesham" tickets from Evesham, and the few which exist from Pershore are not valid via London.

The data is a bit odd, in that it doesn't mention London, but instead permits travel via Birmingham New Street and Watford Junction, or via Birmingham Moor Street and High Wycombe. It means that a journey via Birmingham and Reading or Aylesbury isn't shown as being permitted with "London Evesham" or "via Evesham" tickets, and nor is one which uses Crosscountry from Birmingham to Banbury on the way to London Marylebone.

Today's other new easements are all for the same dates as this one.

701130 (Fare route) During engineering works between the 23 and 26 October 2023, tickets from Worcestershire Parkway, Pershore and Evesham priced on (00799) LONDON EVESHAM, (00805) VIA EVESHAM and (00433) AP EVESHAM for journeys to or via London, will be valid via Yate, Cam & Dursley and Bristol Parkway for journeys via Swindon. This fare route easement applies in both directions
This easement permits tickets from Worcestershire Parkway to or via London to be used via Bristol Parkway and Swindon if they have a suitable right route code. The data refers to journeys via Swindon rather than to or via London.

701131 (Fare route) During engineering work disruption between 23 and 26 October 2023, customer with tickets to London priced on routes (00799) LONDON EVESHAM, (00805) VIA EVESHAM and (00433) AP EVESHAM will be valid via Stroud or Cam & Dursley and Swindon. This fare route easement applies in both directions
There's a lot of overlap between this and 700131, but both may have an effect. It's hard to see as, when I tried to plan (as an example) a Worcestershire Parkway-Eastbourne journey via Bristol Parkway, I was only offered a through ticket if the journey also went through Worcester Shrub Hill.

701132 (Map) During engineering between 23 and 26 October 2023, customers travelling to or via London from Hereford, Ledbury, Colwall, Great Malvern, Malvern Link, Worcester Foregate Street, Worcester Shrub Hill, Worcestershire Parkway, Ashchurch, Cheltenham and Gloucester, on tickets priced on (00799) LONDON EVESHAM and (00805) VIA EVESHAM. May travel via Birmingham and Watford Junction. This map easement applies in both directions.
The data for this easement adds the routeing points between Gloucester, Birmingham (New Street only) and Bletchley, but not Watford Junction, to any mapped route with either route code.

701133 (Map) During engineering works between the 23 and 26 October 2023, tickets from Worcestershire Parkway, Pershore and Evesham priced on (00000) ANY PERMITTED, (00799) LONDON EVESHAM, (00805) VIA EVESHAM and (00433) AP EVESHAM for journeys to or via London, will be valid via Yate, Cam & Dursley and Bristol Parkway for journeys via Swindon. This local easement applies in both directions
The data for this easement adds Cheltenham and Worcester Shrub Hill to any mapped route to or from Worcestershire Parkway or Pershore with one of the above route codes.

701134 (Local) During engineering works between the 29 July and 06 August 2023, tickets from Worcestershire Parkway, Pershore and Evesham priced on (00000) ANY PERMITTED, (00799) LONDON EVESHAM and (00805) VIA EVESHAM for journeys to or via London, will be valid via Birmingham New Street for journeys via Watford Junction. Or valid via Birmingham Moor Street for journeys via High Wycombe. This local easement applies in both directions
The data for this easement permits travel via Bromsgrove and Worcester Routeing Group on the local part of a journey from or to Evesham, Pershore or Worcestershire Parkway via Watford Junction or High Wycombe with one of the above routes.

Station link changes:

Kirkby (Merseyside) (KIR) to Rainford (RNF) no longer has a distance of 5.05.
This removes the redundant Kirkby-Rainford link from distance calculations. Kirkby-Headbolt Lane and Headbolt Lane-Rainford links were added in May.

Non-NFM64 station changes:

Lea Bridge (LEB) now uses NFM64 fares for Stratford (SRA) instead of Tottenham Hale (TOM) (15/05/2016-)
There are no fares to or from "Tottenham Hale" in the NFM64 table, but there are a lot from or to "Tottenham Hale Und". As things stood, Lea Bridge was supposed to use fares for Tottenham Hale, which was supposed to use fares for Northumberland Park. I don't know what web sites actually did when trying to carry out a fare check for Lea Bridge.

Lea Bridge now uses Stratford fares instead. This could affect journeys such as Lea Bridge-Bury St. Edmunds.

Did they forget to amend the dates from last time?

Some more changes were published in the routeing guide yesterday.
Changes from 20 Oct 2023 (468) to 23 Oct 2023 (469).
Easement changes:
Removed:
701115 (Map) During engineering work closures between 16 and 20 October 2023, impacting journeys to and via Dorchester and Yeovil to the West Country, Bristol and beyond. Customers with tickets routed on (00000) ANY PERMITTED, (00955) GWR ONLY, (00829) VIA YEOVIL, (00818) NOT VIA BRISTOL and (00817 VIA BRISTOL will be able to travel via Southampton and Salisbury. This map easement to apply in both directions
701116 (Fare route) Due to engineering work closures between 16 and 20 October 2023, journeys to or via Yeovil on tickets routed on (00829) VIA YEOVIL will be able to travel via Brockenhurst. Tickets priced on route (00955) GWR ONLY will be able to travel via Yeovil Junction and Salisbury. These fare route easements will apply in both directions
701117 (Routeing Point) During engineering work closures between 16 - 20 October 2023, impacting journeys to and via Dorchester South from or via Yeovil Junction, Sherborne, Templecombe, Gillingham (Dorset) and Tisbury. Customers with tickets routed on (00000) ANY PERMITTED, (00955) GWR ONLY, (00829) VIA YEOVIL, (00818) NOT VIA BRISTOL and (00817 VIA BRISTOL will be able to travel via Salisbury and Brockenhurst. This routeing point easement to apply in both directions.
701122 (Fare route) During engineering works on the weekend of the 21/22 October 2023. Customers travelling on tickets priced on (00831) VIA BATH may travel via Swindon or Westbury. This fare route easement applies in both directions.
701123 (Map) During engineering works on the weekend of 21/22 October 2023. Customers travelling on tickets priced on (00831) VIA BATH may travel via Swindon or Westbury. This map easement applies in both directions.
The dates for these have passed now.

Added:
701135 (Map) Due to engineering works until noon Sunday 12 November 2023 and all day on Sunday 13 January 2024. Customers travel to Bath Spa may ravel via Bristol Temple Meads. This map easement applies in both directions
There are no trains trough Chippenham before 13:16 on the 12th. This easement adds Bristol Group and Swindon to any mapped routes from or to Bath.

It's too early to check trains for the date in January, but the data for the easement has no effect then as it's a Saturday, not a Sunday.

Changed (added sections in red, removed ones in green):
701129 (Fare route) During engineering works between the 23 and 26 October2023October 2023, tickets from Hereford, Ledbury, Colwall, Great Malvern, Malvern Link, Worcester Foregate Street, Worcester Shrub Hill, Worcestershire Parkway, Pershore and Evesham priced on (00799) LONDON EVESHAM and (00805) VIA EVESHAM for journeys to or via London, will be valid via Birmingham New Street for journeys via Watford Junction. Or valid via Birmingham Moor Street for journeys via High Wycombe. This fare route easement applies in both directions
This fixes a typo, and what I take to be a mistake in the data. It changes High Wycombe from being a "permit travel via here" location to being an "only valid for journeys via here" one for journeys to Hereford, etc.. Journeys from Hereford had the second version throughout. I don't know what effect this has, though.

701134 (Local) During engineering works between the 29 July and 06 August 23 - 26 October2023, tickets from Worcestershire Parkway, Pershore and Evesham priced on (00000) ANY PERMITTED, (00799) LONDON EVESHAM and (00805) VIA EVESHAM for journeys to or via London, will be valid via Birmingham New Street for journeys via Watford Junction. Or valid via Birmingham Moor Street for journeys via High Wycombe. This local easement applies in both directions
This fixes the dates in the text. The data already included the new set of dates.

The following post was made on 27th October 2023.

Some more changes were made to the routeing guide yesterday.
Changes from 23 Oct 2023 (469) to 26 Oct 2023 (470).
Permitted Route changes:
Ashford International (AFK) to Redhill Group (G60) gain DE+LB HS+LB RA+LB
This adds various mapped routes via Croydon.

Between 2015 and yesterday, the only mapped route went via Edenbridge and Godstone, although "not via London" and "+any permitted" Ashford-Redhill tickets were still on sale.

May travel via Birmingham and Watford Junction. This map easement applies in both directions.
Or valid via Birmingham Moor Street for journeys via High Wycombe. This local easement applies in both directions
These all ended yesterday.

Added:
701136 (Map) During engineering works, on 05th and 12th November 2023. The 20th, 21st, 27th and 28th January 2024, the 04th and 11th February 2024 and between 16th to 24th March 2024. Trans Pennine Express services that normally travel from Sheffield to Manchester via Chinley will be diverted to run via Huddersfield. This map easement will create temporary map permissions for Trans Pennine Express services from Sheffield. It will operate in both directions.
The line through Chinley is closed on those dates, and TPE are running Sheffield-Manchester trains which go via Huddersfield.

This easement adds the routeing points along TPE's route (specifically Sheffield, Meadowhall, Swinton, Wakefield Group, Huddersfield Group, Stalybridge, Guide Bridge and Manchester Piccadilly) to any mapped route on the above dates which involves TPE services.

701137 (Doubleback) During engineering works, on 05th and 12th November 2023. The 20th, 21st, 27th and 28th January 2024, the 04th and 11th February 2024 and between 16th to 24th March 2024. Trans Pennine Express services that normally travel from Sheffield to Manchester via Chinley will be diverted to run via Marsden (Yorks). This doubleback easement will allow connecting services to interchange at Sheffield with the diverted Trans Pennine Express services, and travel twice through Swinton and Meadowhall. It will operate in both directions.
This lets customers double back through Swinton and Meadowhall on the same dates, meaning that someone starting in Barnsley or Doncaster can use the diverted trains.

These easements don't permit a "via Stockport" Sheffield-Runcorn ticket to be used via the diversion. You still need to travel via Stockport or Romiley.

701138 (Map) During engineering work route closures between the 20th and 28th January 2024, journeys between the West Country to or via Bristol Temple Meads can be routed via Westbury and Bath Spa. This map easement applies in both directions
I can't find any details of the closure, but the easement suggests that the line thrugh Bridgwater will be closed then. It adds Bristol-Taunton via Westbury (specifically Bristol Group, Bath, Westbury Group, Castle Cary and Taunton) to any mapped route on those dates.

701139 (Doubleback) During engineering work line closures between Bristol and Weston Super Mare, on the 20th to 28th January 2024, customers may doubleback between Bristol Temple Meads and Bath Spa on journeys from, to or via Taunton.
The details let anyone going from, to or via Taunton double back through Bath on the way.

Some changes were published in the routeing guide yesterday.
Changes from 26 Oct 2023 (470) to 01 Nov 2023 (471).
Easement changes:
Added:
701140 (Map) During engineering works, impacting journeys from Didcot Parkway via Swindon on the 07 and 14 January 2024, customers will be able to travel via Reading, Newbury and Westbury. This map easement will apply in both directions.
Most lines through Swindon are closed then, with only the line to Stroud remaining open. Trains are diverted between Reading and Bristol via Newbury and Trowbridge.

The data for this easement adds Bath, Chippenham, Westbury Group, Didcot and Reading Group to any mapped route which can make use of them.

701141 (Fare route) During engineering works, impacting journeys from Didcot Parkway via Swindon on the 07 and 14 January 2024, customers with tickets priced on (00847) VIA SWINDON will be able to travel Newbury. This fare route easement will apply in both directions.
This permits "via Swindon" tickets to be used via Newbury on the above dates.

701142 (Map) During engineering works, impacting journeys from Didcot Parkway to London, on the 26 November 2023, and the 24 and 27 December 2023, travel will be valid via Oxford Parkway and High Wycombe to London Marylebone. This map easement will apply in both directions.
London Paddington is closed then, so this gives some people an alternative route into London.

The data adds Didcot, Oxford, Princes Risborough, South Ruislip and London Marylebone to mapped routes to or from Didcot.

Changed (added sections in red, removed ones in green):
701135 (Map) Due to engineering works until noon Sunday 12 November 2023 and all day on Sunday Saturday 13 January 2024. Customers travel to Bath Spa may ravel via Bristol Temple Meads. This map easement applies in both directions
This corrects the day of the week and fixes the data. There are no trains between Chippenham and Swindon then, so this easement gives people an alternative to the buses.

The following post was made on 4th November 2023.

Some more easements were added to the routeing guide yesterday.
Changes from 01 Nov 2023 (471) to 03 Nov 2023 (472).
Easement changes:
Added:
701143 (Fare route) During engineering works on 26 November 2023, customers travelling to or via London from Hereford, Ledbury, Colwall, Great Malvern, Malvern Link, Worcester Foregate Street, Worcester Shrub Hill, Worcestershire Parkway, Ashchurch, Cheltenham and Gloucester, on tickets priced on (00799) LONDON EVESHAM, (00803) EVESHAM/STROUD, (00805) VIA EVESHAM and (00827) LONDON STROUD/EVESHAM. May travel via Birmingham. This fare route easement applies in both directions.
This easement affects the same date as easement 701142, when London Paddington is closed. The details doesn't mention the above stations, but instead allows any ticket with one of the above route codes to go via Birmingham. Tickets between London and Ashchurch, Cheltenham and Gloucester have either "any permitted" or "via Stroud" route codes, so are unaffected.

701144 (Map) During engineering works on 26 November 2023, customers travelling to or via London from Hereford, Ledbury, Colwall, Great Malvern, Malvern Link, Worcester Foregate Street, Worcester Shrub Hill, Worcestershire Parkway, Ashchurch, Cheltenham and Gloucester, on tickets priced on routes (00799) LONDON EVESHAM, (00803) EVESHAM/STROUD, (00805) VIA EVESHAM and (00827) LONDON STROUD/EVESHAM. May travel via Birmingham (but not Oxford) . This map easement applies in both directions.
This adds the routeing points between Gloucester, Bromsgrove, Birmingham, Banbury, London Marylebone, London Euston and Watford Junction to journeys with one of the above route codes which don't involve Oxford.

The rest of the easements are intended to accommodate closure of the line west of London Paddington on 26th November and 24-7th December.

701145 (Map) During engineering works on 26 November, 24 December and 27 December 2027, journeys to London Paddington will be disrupted. Customers travelling to London from Burnham Beeches, Taplow, Maidenhead, Marlow, Bourne End, Cookham, Furze Platt, Twyford, Henley on Thames, Shiplake and Wargrave will be permitted to travel via Reading, Feltham and Clapham Junction to London Waterloo. This map easement applies in both directions.
The data for this easement adds the routeing points between Slough, Reading and London Waterloo (except for Vauxhall), along with London Paddington and Woking, to any mapped route which can make use of them.

701146 (Routeing Point) During engineering works on 26 November, 24 December and 27 December 2027, journeys to London Paddington will be disrupted. Customers travelling to London from Burnham Beeches, Taplow, Marlow, Bourne End, Cookham, Furze Platt, Henley on Thames, Shiplake and Wargrave will be permitted to travel via Reading to London Waterloo. This routeing point easement applies in both directions.
This is intended to let tickets from Burnham, Taplow and the Henley and Marlow branches travel be used via Reading (Burnham Beeches is an old name for Burnham station). As this is a routeing point easement, and none of the stations is associated with the Reading Group routeing point, it has no effect.

701147 (Routeing Point) During engineering works on 26 November, 24 December and 27 December 2027, journeys to London Paddington will be disrupted. Customers travelling to London from Iver, Langley (Berks) and Windsor & Eton Central will be permitted to travel via Windsor & Eton Riverside and Staines to London Waterloo. This routeing point easement applies in both directions.
This is intended to let someone going from Iver, Langley and Windsor & Eton Central travel via Staines. This is also a routeing point easement where none of the stations is associated with the named routeing point. It also has no effect.

701148 (Map) During engineering works on 26 November, 24 December and 27 December 2027, journeys to London Paddington will be disrupted. Customers travelling to London from Iver, Langley (Berks), Slough and Windsor & Eton Central will be permitted to travel via Windsor & Eton Riverside and Staines to London Waterloo. This map easement applies in both directions.
The data for this easement adds Slough and the routeing points between Staines and London Waterloo (except for Vauxhall), as well as London Paddington, to any mapped route which can make use of them.

What I'm not seeing from these four easements is a way for someone with (say) a Burnham-London Paddington season ticket (they dropped the "London Terminals" ones in 2017) to travel to London Waterloo via Staines.

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

Some easements were deleted from the routeing guide yesterday.

Changes from 03 Nov 2023 (472) to 08 Nov 2023 (473).
