Anyone have any idea what loco the 47/57 cab in Crewe heritage centre is from, there are no loco number markings on it from what I can tell.

47435 according to a photo on Flickr, states that it's a spare cab rather than the original though

Last I heard, a few days ago, was that 455 868 is next in line for attention so it should be out again soon.

Needed a traction motor replacement or something similar - apparently they recovered what they need for it from 455 725 when that went for scrap.

Just to assist, had it been a loco/locos with no coaches or wagons (commonly known as a ‘light loco’), then the headcode would begin with a zero (eg 0Z90). The 5 prefix denotes that it is hauling at least one coach.

THanks for that reply. I know the 5Z... meant it was more than just a loco but the last time I saw a train for Crewe HS ID'ing as 5Zxx it was a steam engine with just one carriage! The 37401 makes it a diesel loco so I presume a diesel loco (37401) with 8 (slam door?) coaches I would think but correct me if I am wrong on that.
