Did I see an East Coast HST heading south on the Durham Coast line yesterday (Sunday). OK it was dark, but I'm sure it wasn't Grand Central :-?
Yes, coincidence, of course.. . . Ironically, both were officially clocked into KGX at exactly 29 mins late, funny that...
That seems very likely since there were engineering works between N'cle and York ( I think) all weekend. It is not unusual to have HST's on the coast line, or on the Tyne Valley line, during works periods. Pity the Ferryhill/Leamside line is not usable, it would save a lot of inconvenience for folk, put a diesel loco on the front of the Electrics and it could take them through, that's if there are spare diesels of course!
This time during diversions EC have dragged the 91s with a 67 over the stillington diversion
Yep - York,Darlo,(reverse)Dinsdale,Stockton,Stilly,F/Hill ,Durham.
Would have been quicker by bus![]()
