The Northern Electrics livery was the previous Northerns baby. All the 319s will be gaining the 'New Northern' livery. They will be with them for the full franchise and beyond, not to mention being seen around the entire NW of England in the not to distant future after all.

361 was apparently required in traffic due to a unit shortage hence its current unfinished livery.

39132 is already with Northern, so I take it 319448 is a new addition?

Yes, 319004/5, 319218/9, 319424/31/34/42/48/50/56/58 are additions to the fleet.

319450 is also painted in the new base livery along with 319361.

Wonder when they will start working with Northern?

319218 & 319219 have been laying idle at Allerton for a while now.

Anyone know which 319 went south to Wolverton on Feb 28th to take 319361's place? 319366 went south on Monday.

I am not so sure a high gloss white finish sits too well on 30yr old carriages - every bump, indentation and ripple was highlighted on 361 when I saw it yesterday in the bright sunshine, and it looked old and battered (compared to the purple liveried ones)

Lets hope some vinyls or logos are applied, or a few trips through the carriage washer to tone it down a bit.

If they are doing the entire northern fleet the 150/1s are going to need a lot of filler!

Caught 319363 in service with Northern today. In the same plain white livery as 361, with the required PRM mods complete. The interior is bizarre though. They've replaced some of the flooring, but some the FCC flooring remains. It's not even consistent within carriages. Even more strange though, in one of the driving vehicles between the cab and first set of doors only all the seats are back in FCC moquette. It's like it's been de-refurbished!

I think it's a vast improvement. I just wish there was at least a version of it for pacers. It's a shame to see them ending their days in purple (I know I raised this earlier, but that was on the wrong thread ).

319366 failed this morning at Heald Green with a door fault on 2A71 0615 Manchester Piccadilly - Manchester Airport service. Arrived at Manchester Airport with a hazard light lit on one carriage.

Not exactly an improvement on the previous Northern livery is it!

First impressions are that the font is too big.
The branding is not exactly understated, is it?
Not a fan of web addresses being plastered over stock either.
Inside we still seem to have a too-small LED display scrolling madly.

Did the Channel Tunnel pair have a special livery? 1993 was it?
I travelled on one but can't remember.

If that is the finish livery of Class 319 - who ever got paid to design (mmm "design" is arguable to say the least) needs to go back to school - it is just totally rubbish, no imagination and using the a base colour of "off white" has no consideration for the working environment of day to day running of trains!
