So, does anyone know who bought 156478 at auction and whether it has now gone to Wolverton Works prior to use by Northern?
As far as can be glued together from postings on the internet and Facebook, Porterbrook bought it and it is having a C6 overhaul at Kilmarnock before lease to Northern.

Actually nobodies "bought" it. Northern are going to be leasing it off Brodies and yes, it will have a C6 and full refresh at Brodies before it is released.

Anything regarding the ex-Anglia and EMR 156s? One of them was diagrammed on the Hope Valley today and the seats were hard, threadbare and filthy. The carpets were crystalline black and filthy as well. They are easily the worst trains running on the UK network at the moment, besides some of the 153s.

Aside from the unrefurbished seating and lack of WiFi, I’ve found that these Non Northern interior 156’s have a better seating layout with more legroom, more tables and have diffusers over the lighting. All of these things an improvement over Northern’s abysmal legroom and bright white exposed bulbs.

Not heard anything yet. The Ex-East Mids ones are worse than the Anglia ones (only marginally) 409/416/417 have been tidied up whilst at Wolverton and are a lot nicer, but lack power points etc that the home fleet have.
I bumped into 416 at Lancaster last week and you it still smelt like a new train.

The seat covers on these will all be changed out to Northern moquette at some point this year (no refresh yet though).
Is it going to NH or HT?
NH.

How are things progressing with 156482? Is it still looking likely for an end of April return?

156491 has found its way onto a Newton Heath diagram today (Rochdale to Blackburn). Is this a temporary arrangement?

Presumably a consequence of the block at Workington meaning Heaton units from the Cumbrian Coast are stuck in the NW.

they normally go via the calder valley via leeds and york when transferring between the 2 depots.
They have sent some from Barrow to Heaton via Penrith covered by ROG. Very very few 'East' Northern drivers now sign 156s so moving via Calder Valley, Leeds and Northallerton is practically impossible.

One for diligentdave has 150103 returned yet, or has its 23rd March date slipped. Is there a date for 156469 returning yet. MTIA

I can't remember the last time I saw a 156 in Leeds
