Yep; Better By You, Better Than Me. The suicide was in Reno, Nevada, in the late 1980s. I'm not being hyperbolic but it's an absolute disgrace that that case ever got as high as it did, it was an absolute joke. One of my favourite moments of that whole event was Jeremy Paxman on TV at the time during a debate saying 'Well, he has a point [name], I don't actually know anyone who does listen to music backwards'. As someone who listens to Judas Priest religiously I can state that at no point during my listening to them have I thought they were trying to tell me to worship Satan, or kill people or any of that nonsense. TBF Priest are actually quite an upbeat metal band when they want to be. Anybody who genuinely believes that listening to metal makes you want to kill yourself or that there are satanic backwards messages in songs is extremely misguided in my opinion.

Totally agree mate, and I prefer the apparently dodgy stuff, and I don't think that makes you kill yourself either.

Especially for a song written by Spooky Tooth some years earlier. For my part I think they were jumping on a bandwagon to try and make metal unpalatable.

Blimey I've seen Trivium supporting Iron Maiden! Here is my mates bands new video by the way, its the way forward.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KKYJD09qCk

Yeah, I've seen trivium 3 times of which one was supporting maiden and Matt Heafy challenged someone to a fight outside or to GTFO when he threw something at him which was pretty awesome.

Your mate's band is very good btw although I prefer clean vocals

Something a bit softer from me this time

Good tune mate, I like a bit of Evanesence. Speaking of violence at gigs I remember seeing Slayer years ago and Tom Araya saw some security bloke battering someone, kicked him in the head and said "Violence begets violence". God knows how he got away with that.

As for my mates band, its my mate Jeff who is the vocalist, he plays in a Mexican band called Brujeria as well. They've been going for yonks but they have a new album out for the first time in 10 years or so called Surgical Steel. Most of the lyrics are actually quite funny, somewhere in between a horror movie and a black comedy, the actual band are mostly vegatarian. The lead quitarist Bill was in the original Napalm Death lineup. The chap in the video with specs on, Ken, was the original Carcass drummer but sadly he had a brain embolism and can't do the band full time now. His band actually get mentioned in the program Friends and their album cover for Heartwork was designed by the bloke who invented the Alien in Alien, H R Gieger.

Here's a video for another mates band, clean vocals this time, ha ha. Its live in Buenos Aires and they managed to blag an orchestra. They are three brothers from Anfield, Danny on guitars went to our school, Les on the keyboards also plays for Cradle Of Filth if you know them?

I thought some might find this mildly entertaining. Brujeria are allegedly Mexican drug dealers wanted for murder. The bloke on bass in a daft stetson is my mate from St Helens. The guitarist is Shane, the bass player from Napalm Death, the lead vocalist is an accountant from New Mexico.

Dee Snieder from.Twisted Sister was also taken to court for a similar thing. I think the prosecution expected him to be a uneducated buffoon, mainly of because of how he looked..However he absolutely ripped them to shreds.

Les hasn't played in CoF since around 1999! He went on to work with Anathema (one of my favourite bands) but has also moved on from them. Edit: I just read your post properly.. Anathema yes! I was sad when Les left but the new guy seems to have his heart in it and the newer album is mindblowing. The newest live album/dvd is incredible, including an orchestra also. Probably one of the best live dvd's i've ever seen! I've seen Anathema at least 5 times and they just keep getting better.. One of the bets bands in the country yet so unappreciated by the mainstream.

I've never properly listened to Carcass, but I know they are one of the big pioneering grindcore bands along with Napalm Death. I'm quite a big fan of Napalm Death myself.. I don't tend to listen to their albums much but live they are great fun. I'll add to your interesting Trivia.. In Red Dwarf episode 'Timeslides' Lister's band are members from Carcass and Napalm Death.. I'm sure one's Bill Steer but not sure.

Funny how we have all these weird connections. My guitar teacher for most of my time studying music was Charles who was guitarist in CoF. He's now playing for Mayhem which is awesome in itself!

I'm currently listening to My Dying Bride - The Dreadful Hours. What an album!

It's weird how music has memories attached. When ever I hear Le figlie della tempesta for some reason I think of Railfest at NRM over 10 years ago. Very weird :)

Yeah, it was a while back that Les was in Cradle, didn't realise that it was that long, ha ha. Getting old. Bill was indeed in Smeg and the Heads in Timeslides. Met Jeff when he worked for HMRC on the phones in Liverpool after Carcass split up after Swansong. He hadn't told anyone he played in a band I managed to ruin it all for him, not deliberately. My mate on his team wanted to know how I knew him. Don't see much of the guys from Anathema now as they are living all over the place. Still see Griff who played in Cathedral occasionally.

Love My Dying Bride, used to see them in Bradford Rios all the time when I was at Uni. Bit of rivalry between them and Carcass, they played in Santiago last year and me mate was made up they were above them on the bill.

See if you can spot the familiar sounding riff at 3:20 ;)
It is of course Judas Priest's Electric Eye

One of my sons came to visit me today and he had a ringtone on his mobile phone that was annoying to say the least and the tuneless female was referring to "having big fun", whatever that crass misuse of the English language may signify..<(

Still, it sounds less creepy than that Bruno Marrs song where he says he'd jump under a train for a girl and then complains that she wouldn't do the same. Who writes pop song lyrics and what weird planet do they come from? Ha ha.

Can't say I've heard it (thankfully no doubt). Planet Rock might be as good as it was but it still beats most other radio station.
