Downham Market has had a refurb and it seems NSE is back! New signage and paint scheme all in Network South East colors and brand new NSE signage. Anyone know why?

I believe that King's Lynn has undergone some 'retro' refurbishment in recent years, if Downham Market has gone back to NSE may it be a continuation of that trend?

It has. Perhaps Downham has had the same treatment as this?

Hewew are a few pics I got. At first I thought it was just the one sign but When I returned home last night all signage had changed. I will head over it today and get some more pictures.

All lamp posts are red and dark blue almost black. Signage is NSE style and the entrance says welcome to Network South East Downham Market. The BR sign outside the station never was replaced so it was always NSE but it is desperate for a new one. It sort of pink and brown now.

I have to say it looks really nice having the red lamps. The waiting room has a map motif on the walls now and looks really nice. I just wish they would paint all the picket fences white. They are a mix of white and unpainted.

Yes possibly going further and further back. Downham is British Rail and kings Lynn is British Railways maybe? Should Ely become Wagn? Haha

I wonder then, if it's actually a sponsored rebranding of Downham Market? Bachmann has recently released the signal box and I think a few of the station items in NSE so, putting 2+2 together I wonder if it has anything to do with that?

Very confusing - you say that the BR sign "never was replaced" but then that it "was always NSE" - which is true? Dark red lamp posts do not an NSE livery make.

Although the sign in one of the pictures posted above definitely has the NSE lozenge :)

Splendid idea.

I can't see any pictures other than the one of King's Lynn and the Flickr link, which only shows the platforms with no signs visible. Perhaps you can see more photos than I can - odd.

A lot of comments here saying just because they have red lampposts it is not Network South East.

Can I just clarify that all signage that was in the FCC style has been replaced with Network South East style signage.

I have added the pictures to Flikr for anyone anyone who has trouble seeing them.

By this i meant that the red double arrow station sign was not replaced at privatisation. It still has the NSE strip at the bottom.

Well, there's no disputing that! What an odd era to revive.

With you now.

Drayton Park to Moorgate exists in an eternal state of NSE as well, which is quite surreal.

if I wasn't away this weekend I'd take a ride up there and get more photos.

Kings Lynn is in Great Eastern colours but with 50's style British Railways post nationalisation signs.

Appears that as of July 2009 Watlington still had it's NSE totem
