I believe so, the author did say that regular posting would be stopping from September

On the second-to-last post he says he will be no longer blogging, which is a huge shame as the blog was very informative.

Refugees from Omnibuses might want to try out British Bus Bugle, which aims to provide similar news and features, at least until Omnibuses is up and running again, which I hope it will be.

I wrote a couple of guest pieces for the Omnibuses blog a few years ago, so I was also very sorry to see that Busing has stopped regular blogging. Glad to see replacements starting to emerge.

I too used to guest post, and am sad to see the site not being updated! It used to be a great source of information and the posts were always interesting to read.

In its absence I've created a blog of my own, if anyone's interested, looking primarily at the East Midlands and York areas:

I have read through the replacement British Bus Bugle site and it seems quite good, but due to different writers it is in a different style.

Unfortunately it seems to largely concentrate on just current news feeds. The Omnibuses blog featured well-researched items covering a wide range of issues.

I'm glad that you're enjoying British Bus Bugle. I run it single handedly, so had to make a decision about what I could cover well given the time constraints and unfortunately that has meant I've been unable to do some of the longer in-depth features that Omnibuses did so well.

I am running a series of features each Sunday, looking at how well local and county councils promote the bus services on their patch.

British Bus Bugle is also more than happy to publish guest posts if anyone would like to write and submit one.

Good to see more and more regional bus blogs emerging around the country.

Unfortunately, The Bugle uses the same blog template as Southampton Bus (and Public Transport Experience, for that matter) and thus refuses to accept my comments. I daresay these websites can survive without my ill-judged responses, but I find it frustrating. If others have found this, they could be missing out on literally several comments a week.

Win7 + Chrome with pop-ups & 3rd-party cookies blocked, if anybody's interested.

Isn't Bugle written by the same person doing the Southampton Bus blog ?

I run both British Bus Bugle and Southampton Bus Update as well as a couple of others. Sorry to hear you're having trouble posting comments. It might be down to your cookie settings.

An alternative would be to submit comments by e-mail to the address on those blogs. If you make it clear to which post on which blog you are responding, I'll be happy to post the comment on your behalf. I'm also happy to do so anonymously if you wish.

It does seem a bit of a contradiction -

You "blog" to ensure your views reach the widest possible audience.
And then limit who can actually receive them!

I imagine the restriction is merely a way of getting the whole thing offline quickly. Why, I have no idea.
