Just seen on BBC travel news services between Bournemuth and Weymouth at a stand due to operational incident at Poole, any idea whats up and how long things expected to be affected?
OK | Delay caused by Operating staff oversight, issues or absence (excluding signallers and Control) |
Presumbaly the fix is simply to energise the siding, or does doing so while occupied fry the train's delicate tech for some reason?!Train routed into siding that is no longer under a possession but third rail still isolated in error. Ergo, train came to a stand with loss of power.
NRE (for what it's worth) has nothing about this in its 'cleared disruptions' list, so I assume it's at least a day old.Just watched on Open Train Times maps as trains passed through normally in both directions, (albeit delayed), so presumably the BBC news is now stale…
No it will not. Trains are often berthed at London Termini at overnight, when isolations are taken and restored. Also when the juice is isolated in an emergency and restored, trapped trains will be re-energised.Presumbaly the fix is simply to energise the siding, or does doing so while occupied fry the train's delicate tech for some reason?!
Thanks - that's what I hoped, but these days...No it will not. Trains are often berthed at London Termini at overnight, when isolations are taken and restored. Also when the juice is isolated in an emergency and restored, trapped trains will be re-energised.
