Just seen on BBC travel news services between Bournemuth and Weymouth at a stand due to operational incident at Poole, any idea whats up and how long things expected to be affected?

Delay attribution is "OK" (at the moment):

OKDelay caused by Operating staff oversight, issues or absence (excluding signallers and Control)

Train routed into siding that is no longer under a possession but third rail still isolated in error. Ergo, train came to a stand with loss of power.

Just watched on Open Train Times maps as trains passed through normally in both directions, (albeit delayed), so presumably the BBC news is now stale…

Presumably something routed into Poole Sorting Sidings instead of turning around at Branksome as per the VVR paths?

Presumbaly the fix is simply to energise the siding, or does doing so while occupied fry the train's delicate tech for some reason?!

NRE (for what it's worth) has nothing about this in its 'cleared disruptions' list, so I assume it's at least a day old.

The line was closed all weekend between Bournemouth and Wareham. There were track renewals in Branksome station, but was any work done in the sidings at Poole too?

No it will not. Trains are often berthed at London Termini at overnight, when isolations are taken and restored. Also when the juice is isolated in an emergency and restored, trapped trains will be re-energised.

Thanks - that's what I hoped, but these days...
