How my name is pronounced in Latvian

(spelt Martinŝ)

I am currently wearing a Dynamo Riga Ice Hockey t shirt. Not out of any great loyalty, more because I was there, saw it, liked it and bought it. :D Also visited the Skonto Riga stadium. Interesting. :D

My user name includes the time of a train I used to get every day, which no longer exists after a timetable change some years ago!

The 0844 definitely does exist. Not necessarily at your station.

Robbie Fowler (Or God) and his shirt number, after being number 23 of course.

Met him, in of all places, Nassau airport. Nice chap.

As for me, Blackadder is my favourite TV programme of all time. There was (apparently) going to be a fifth series set in the 60s, about a dodgy rock band. Blackadder would have been the lead singer, and the hapless drummer would have been Bald Rick. It seemed to suit me, as I often have cunning plans.

There are some "real names" I'm not sure of. For instance I thought Kirk Sandall was a real person until I saw it was a place.

I intended my user name to be Richmond Commuter as I live in Richmond and I commute into London. However due to the limited number of characters available my user name is RichmondCommu!

I chose my username because South West Trains (SWT) is my favourite TOC and class 450 trains are my favourite trains.

I used to live a short stroll around a famous baked bean, soup and ketchup factory and woodland from Gathurst. A more accurate username for me in the same ilk now would be Bryny which sounds horrible.

I wanted mine to be just Condor but someone who now never comes on the forum already had that so I stuck a 7 on the end.

As my avatar shows Condor was the name of only a few freight trains that ever had official titles. It was given in the early days of container traffic (late 50's early 60's) and is an abbreviation for 'Container Door To Door' and ran from London to Glasgow normally hauled by Metrovick 1200 co-bo diesels.

A rather boring ID obviously taken from what I believe was the best EMU until at least the '90s. It's a shame that they were never put on the WCML until they were in the autumn of their lives.

By the same token I should be AM6. Yes they would have been good on the WCML but cant agree about taking them away from the GE though ;)

Sad to relate, but studying maths and statistics, I used to note the unit number I travelled on to and from school to see if there was any pattern. There wasn't, but I recall 024 was the least travelled on unit.

I used this many moons ago on the first forum I joined. It is just the most generic username I could come up with. Some people think it's been inspired by signalling - sadly it's not hat interesting.

'J' is the first letter of my first name (Jonathan), then 2739 is a number I've always stuck on usernames (also an awesome number:D).

I'm very fond of the 2' 6" gauge Leek & Manifold Valley line, 1904 - 1934 (never experienced it first-hand, of course): inaugurator and engineer of which was Mr. E.R. Calthrop -- who also instituted much narrow gauge in India: the L & MV's locos and stock had, themselves, an "Indian" look. Of the line's two locos -- 2-6-4Ts by Kitson -- No. 1 was named E.R. Calthrop.

I'm a native of Huddersfield and long-time supporter of Huddersfield Town. Being a railway forum, I chose the BR number carried by the LNER B17 which bore that name. I added the HTAFC bit just in case the number was already in use: something I've regretted ever since!

I had joined the Hawkwind Forum a few minutes before I joined this one...I hate thinking of user names, passwords etc so I used the same one...it's just a Welsh translation of one of Hawkwind's early songs...'Lord of Light'

Could have also been communist or communard!

Mine is a reference to Long John Silver ("The Sea Cook") in Treasure Island. He was missing his left leg and I my right.

Mine is taken from the nickname of the Preston - Southport line that was closed in Sept 1964. Double tracked throughout, steam hauled to the end it never had any cost saving measures applied i.e. dmu's staff reductions etc. Quickest train was 38 mins, now it can take you that to get out of Preston! Thanks Beeching

I'd always assumed it was Richmond Communist ;)<D

Mine's Monty Python based and I've been using it for years, but whatever I first used it on must have had a username character limit!
