I'm likely to be travelling from Preston to Watford Junction on a Saturday (return same day) sometime before Christmas. I see that I can buy a Super Off Peak Day travelcard from Preston to London for £45.45, which will cover me travelling back out of London as far as Zone 6.
As Watford Junction is now an Oyster card station, would it be cheaper to use that from Euston than to buy a return ticket from Zone 6 to Watford Junction?
I can't find what that fare would be on National Rail Enquiries.

Thanks in advance.

Oyster single fares off-peak from Euston to Watford Junction are £4.30 each way. Boundary zone 6 to Watford Junction off-peak day return is £4.30. If you have time to alight at Harrow and Wealdstone on the way then the single from there to Watford is £1.50 each way.

Is it your intention to travel via Euston on both outward and return legs?

Then a Super Off Peak Day Travelcard together with one of the options given by MikeWh in post #2 will be likely to be best for you.
