Looking at Chester on RTT for tomorrow the following 805s are in use:
001, 004, 008, 009, 011, 012
001, 004, 008, 009, 011, 012
Not fully, it will be a transition. So guessing that AWC are switching out voyagers fully on Welsh services tomorrow?
There's a Voyager ECS 0905 Holyhead-Central Rivers (5K99) which might be the departure of one from the Avanti fleet. So guessing that AWC are switching out voyagers fully on Welsh services tomorrow?
1A16 10:14 CTR-EUS will be the first single
1D83 10:36 CRE-HHD will be the first double
(It's still early in the week, STP's are usually finalised Wednesday/Thursday so this might change!)

I’ve noticed this service is booked as an hitachi unit for tomorrow and I’ve also noticed it’s booked as an hitachi from wembley depot which could mean hitachi services as far as Preston as early as tomorrow
Check post 2255 that shows what Avanti will operate will 805s to start with.Realtime Trains | 9P47 0716 London Euston to Blackpool North | 03/06/2024

Tomorrows 10:14 Chester to London has been allocated as 805008.
The allocation is now showing as 805009.
Seems to be a problem between Chester and Crewe, rather than a problem with the ECS itself, as the preceding TfW service from Chester has also been cancelled. So anyone waiting at Chester who was planning to be on the first 805 in revenue service can't now get to Crewe in time to join it there.Late running ECS from Oxley so now showing as starting Crewe.

This service is partially cancelled
This service was cancelled between Chester and Crewe due to a problem with the track (IS).
Problem with the track.
This is why operators avoid making a song and dance about the first service.![]()
It is for the best. Slow, quiet introductions are always the more sensible.
Yes, I agree.
If I were Avanti I would greet the first arrival at Euston with an Avanti-employed film crew to record the moment. Leave it at that initially...
However, 1D83, the 1036 Crewe to Holyhead, is still shown as running (presumably the defect is on the up line only). If it does, it will be the first 805 in revenue service, by a single minute (as 1A16 is due out of Crewe at 1037)Yes just seen there’s a track defect on this section. Unlucky for those that wanted Chester.

In contrast, Levenmouth's first service has just arrived in Edinburgh within a minute of right time. (It was right tinme as far as Haymarket)So many fanfares that ended up going horribly wrong in the past. Just like those big timetable launches in December. Guaranteed to go pear shaped. Keep it as soft as possible or as soft as you can with social media these days.

Other trains seem to be able to get from Crewe to Chester - 1V70 just reported at Beeston CastleHowever, 1D83, the 1036 Crewe to Holyhead, is still shown as running (presumably the defect is on the up line only).
It was - 3x2car. The leading unit 158719 has special decals (see Levenmouth thread)Yes I just saw that. Looks like at least a 6-car 158.

It is. And the 1036 to Holyhead is at Platform 11 (805001/004)I believe this is 805009 which arrived at Crewe platform 12 to form the 1037 to EUS
Like me.Yes just seen there’s a track defect on this section. Unlucky for those that wanted Chester.
Like me.
I was aiming for Chester-Stafford to sample the changeover to electric at Crewe.
Will have to make do with the diesel section west of Chester, assuming the 1036 Crewe-Holyhead runs.
The Crewe-Swansea has just gone through Chester so the down line must be open.
