Has any one been to the Wetherspoons at St Pancras or to the Pub in Kings Cross Station. I think that onen is called Parcel Yard or similar? I may be in London Sat lunch time and was looking for somewhere not too expensive for a drink and lunch. Wondered what either of those two are like.? Tks Steve.

I've been to both:

The "Parcel Yard" in Kings Cross is OK but gets very busy and as you might expect is very expensive. The new Spoons in St Pancras is more reasonably priced but the menu is more limited than a normal "High St" Spoons. I also found it quite small for a Spoons so I would imagine it could get quite crowded at times.

Parcel Yard is about £5 a pint (same as I paid in Covent Garden), however sign up to Fullers e-mails and you may get a free drinks voucher.

It does get busy, but being a railway pub it has quick turnover of tables. I was there on Sunday early evening and there were plenty of seats for about the hour we were in there, despite the station being packed.

When in the area I like to walk up to The Rocket, opposite the Euston Premier Inn, never had a bad pint or meal in there.
Other friends of mine like the Euston Flyer and O'Neills

Had a look in - impressive sort of "factory loft / art deco style" - impressive and decent prices for food and pizza. (around £8 for steak pie and vegetables) , much poser than certain "Spoons".

The winner is a range of about 6 draught pumps - for £3.80. They are going to make a killing there ! :D

The Euston Flyer is another Fuller's pub and the prices are much the same (if not identical) as The Parcel Yard.

Called in at St Pancras a week ago, pub great as are almost all of JDs. I also tried to get into Liverpool St latter in the day (Friday). Absolutely no chance full to the doors with about 100 people outside. As an avid user of Wetherspoons I must say St Pancras is good.

The cheapest boozer near St Pancras is The Cock Tavern on Phoenix Road in Somers Town, the walking route between Euston and St Pancras. It does not do food, it is an 'Irish' pub and rather tatty. However, it is one of the cheapest pubs in London, way cheaper than Spoons
