I’m thinking of buying a BritRail pass, but I wonder if there are really no hidden exceptions to this ticket. Can I really take any train in Great Britain, at any time (even peak) and any operator (including the OAOs)? If so, £195 for eight days and two persons is a pretty good deal :D

And a second question: does anyone know what the age limit for the SPT Daytripper ticket is? Would a 15-year-old still be a child, i.e. could travel with an adult on one ticket?

Thank you very much for answers

BritRail currently has no time restriction on participating operators

Thank you very much!

Okay, but because of your wording: which operators are not participating?

Exclusions: BritRail Passes are valid for travel on all National Rail services. However, some exclusions apply:
BritRail Passes are not valid on Eurostar services, Tyne and Wear Metro, Glasgow Underground trains, Manchester Metro Link, road links between airport and railway stations, Docklands Light Railway (DLR), Tram links, privately owned railways, steam services, London Underground trains and buses, boats, hovercraft, nor any other services that are not run by National Rail.

(I believe some people have had difficulties with London Overground, but it IS valid there)
