Is there anywhere around kings cross to take a call that's relatively quiet? Don't mind paying a modest amount

Probably lots of places towards Coal Drops Yard that are quiet in the day, although of course a business call in a public area isn't going to be private to anyone nearby!
The cost may be a cup of coffee or a coke etc.
What day of the week / what time, roughly? Is there anywhere around kings cross to take a call that's relatively quiet? Don't mind paying a modest amount
And if this is just a quick call when you can be stood up, or if you want somewhere to sit down, and perhaps get a laptop out?... Though the best place might depend on whether your priority is quiet in the sense of no external noise overwhelming you, or quiet in the sense of knowing there won't be anyone in earshot of you where you could be heard.
Doubt it. Looks like you'll need a suitable 1st Class ticket.11 00 till 12 :00 on a Friday
Good call about the 1st class lounge, can you buy entrance without a ticket?
The First Class Lounge at Kings Cross will be wedged between 11:00-12:00, especially on Fridays due to tourists awaiting the departure of the Highland Chieftain at 12:00.
My go-to place near KGX for this sort of thing is the Costa Coffee at the Premier Inn on York Way. If the Costa is too busy there are tables you can use in the reception area of the Premier Inn itself.
Tourists won't be aware of the mini offices round the corner, and I suspect wouldn't choose to sit there either. The First Class Lounge at Kings Cross will be wedged between 11:00-12:00, especially on Fridays due to tourists awaiting the departure of the Highland Chieftain at 12:00.
I'm going to try this. ThanksMy go-to place near KGX for this sort of thing is the Costa Coffee at the Premier Inn on York Way. If the Costa is too busy there are tables you can use in the reception area of the Premier Inn ititself.
Agree with this, the British Library's garden / plaza is just seconds from the side of the station... my regular hiding place in summertime, with a cheap pasty & drink from Greggs in the adjacent St P station. Plenty of places to sit down and, for an outdoor area in Central London, it's reasonably quiet. There's the British Library on the other side of StP station
There is also the lounge on the first floor. The bar of the Great Northern Hotel isn't bad for this IME if the call is primarily you listening rather than presenting/talking.
