Now back for their sixth year - this is the RailUK awards 2010. We've made a few changes this year; most notably we're starting a bit later than usual based on feedback from past years that lots of events in December haven't been able to be included. In addition some categories have changed and reduced in number; there are only ten this year.
The top three nominations from each category will go forward to a poll open to all members, with one winner selected in each category!
1. Train company of the year
This can either be open access or franchised, passenger or freight
2. Railtour of the year
Any Railtour which has run in 2010
3. Best railway debut of the year
Something new or reintroduced in 2010; maybe rolling stock or innovative ways to communicate with passengers!
4. Railway event of the year
A railway success-story or an exciting event
5. Most disappointing event of the year
Maybe a railway own-goal or an event which could have gone better
6. Most surprising event of the year
Maybe a surprising working or other unexpected event!
7. Best railway media piece
Anything that has appeared on TV, radio or in the press in 2010, from TV series to articles
8. Railway personality of the year
Someone who has made a significant contribution to the industry, such as campaigner, journalist or railway company director/employee
9. Meet of the year
Any forum meet which took place in 2010
10. Thread of the year
Any thread posted here in 2010 - if possible please provide the URL
Members are only allowed to nominate one item in each category, and please try and make your nomination all at once rather than submitting some parts one day, and the rest another! Also, if you can, please submit one nomination for every category. The final date for nominations shall be Sunday 02 January 2011 at 19.00. Note you will not be able to nominate if you are browsing the forum using the "Mobi" style due to technical limitations.
