Very hard hitting indeed. Uncomfortable watching.

Yes it's hard hitting to a extent, but doesn't really show how people who think they are playing games are riskingg their lives . In that respect the original film in this thread seemed to do a better job. Ok, so one was 20 mins and the other only 2.

In a ideal world, they would both be shown a s part of a session to every school kid .

Have to agree with that. Overall they should and have to be shown on TV, in schools if they aren't any more as well. Same go for those Think! For driving ones as well.

I remember way back in year 7 at primary school (2000) during citizenship class, we had some officers from the BTP and might have been Railtrack or FGW as well. Coming in and showing example videos for crossing and so on.

One of the reasons could be the School was in Castle Cary in Somerset and about 1.5 or so miles from the Westbury - Taunton part of the GWML. Those did stick to me for the right reasons.

Which safety video would have been shown in schools in the NSE area during the late 80s/early 90s?

It reminds me slightly of the paper chase section in 'The Railway Children' film where the straggling runner breaks his leg in the tunnel.

Came across this while on YouTube.

Do you think videos like this would be more effective at getting people to stop trespassing on the railway than their modern equivalents?

BTF were the propaganda arm of British Rail. They made some good short films. Not sure this is one of their best.

Yeah, it was the style of film that caught my attention rather than the specific content of this one.
