ESRs are boarded with metal mickey/dalek EROS boards with magnets at the EROS and the advance warning board, and standard speed restriction yellow boards. An emergency speed is only communicated verbally until the boards can be run out.

Until the boards can be run out, nice bit of jargon to bring us back on topic there Mr. Hydro ;)

And regarding ESR's, in light of a slight inaccuracy I noted in an earlier post - it will always be an Emergency Speed Restriction, and notified to the drivers in the Late Notice Case/Verbally, however once it has been published into a Weekly Operating Notice, it ceases to be an Emergency Speed Restriction and becomes a Temporary one, then the Emergency Restricton Of Speed indicator, and associated AWS magnet shall be removed.
