Some locomotives are easier to travel behind than others. Some are very hard to travel behind. In the latter category, is the BTH diesel-electric on the K&ESR. This fine locomotive hauled two Tenterden Town - Bodiam return trips yesterday. I managed a ride behind her on the first trip. Shown running round at Bodiam

What is the history, where was it used? I can't find a info about this BTH 40?

Believe it was from fords factory at dagenham

Three locomotives of this design were built in 1931-32 to LMS loading gauge for use at Ford, Dagenham. They had to cross the ex-LTSR lines so had to fit. One was built out of the best parts of the three for preservation. Worked the sidings into Hodsons Mill, Robertsbridge between 1967-71, and the last train from Robertsbridge to Bodiam before the track was lifted.

Scheduled to run again on 30 May, hauling the 12:15 and 2:30 trains from Tenterden Town, returning with the 1:13 and 3:28 trains from Bodiam.

K&ESR have indicated on Facebook that the locomotive is running today.
