Two non-finishes - actually, make that one non-finish and one non-start - and one scuffed start.

Still, better than I got in the Prediction League this weekend
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
A slightly disappointing (but completely understandable) e-mail has just appeared in my inbox:

This means my team's hopeless start is going to cost me £5+ compared with some of you <(

...oh well, it's still credit that otherwise wouldn't have existed.

Ahh what, I was looking forward to getting about £80 or so from this :( At least I bagged a neat £8 in the first race ;) It's all down to pride now! :D

Can I just say I don't understand this game, and I don't know what I'm doing. I just want it for the loyalty points. If someone can help me improve though... that'd be much appreciated!

This encapsulates pretty much how I feel about it also; to the point that I haven't bothered to post until now! I have literally no idea what I'm doing!

So you get £100,000,000 to buy 4 Drivers, 2 Constructors and 1 Engine (every constructor has one of four engines, the guide is in the rules, which is below), and each of them get you different amounts of points per race, the amount can be found here. Basically, drivers get you the most amount of money, and engines and constructors get you a little bit each. Points can be gained from qualifying for drivers and in the race for drivers, constructors and engines.

Knowing a bit about Formula 1 helps, I don't know how much you know at the moment, but last year's standings can be found here, and this will probably give you a good idea.

If you're just in it for the loyalty points, then it will be very easy to reach the £15 limit, I already have £8 worth after the first race :D

Hope this helps a little bit, I'm not really sure what to say :P If you have any questions, I'm happy to help

You mean to tell me that someone who doesn't know what he is doing is doing better than me when I've been a fan of the sport since I was 9...?

Well, it seems to be going well for me.....

Not much you can do with Maldonado and Di Resta retiring!

Scores have been updated for after Race 2, well done to trainbasher GP and The Spa Stars who have moved up in the leaderboard. I expect it'll start evening out when everyone has their bonus races :P

If China (my first Bonus Round) plays out like it did last year I may well be top after Round 3 <D

I wish Rosberg had been allowed to pass Hamilton. That would have been even more points in the kitty.

Round 3 is upon us.

This is the race my initial team was set up to dominate. Rosberg has led at Shanghai at least briefly for three consecutive years, and won here last year on the back of a Mercedes one-two; teammate Hamilton is the only driver to have won here more than once. Meanwhile, the long straight should play into the hands of the Mercedes engined cars, and we all know that Rosberg's namesake Hulkenberg has a few tricks up his sleeve too and performs well on tracks with long-yet-slow turns and long straights - as anyone who watched has watched Brazil during the Hulkenberg era will know.

Oh, and then there's the slight matter of a potential Red Bull one-two as happened in Malaysia.

Needless to say, this is my double points race - and I expect business <D

...

On a slightly more friendly note, a reminder that Transfers are available for every race. I personally am sticking with my selection through the first quarter of the season, and then taking things race-by-race as a better understanding of how the season is unfolding develops.

Well that's quickly been turned on it's head! I'm definitely not pleased, with Webber and Vettel in my team <(

Bring on the race tomorrow though, although I'm not sure if I'll be able to get up early for it :P

After completely forgetting about this for a while (oops!), I've updated the leader board, and there's been a lot of change it seems!

Bored on March 3rd moves up to the top spot ( <( ), but the most impressive performance of the week was Mojo, moving from 7th to 3rd. Naturally we've had some casualties too, with trainbasher GP moving down to 7th from 4th.

Good luck at Bahrain this weekend, with some nicer racing times. Qualifying is at 12:00 on Saturday, and the Race is on at 13:00 on Sunday.

forgot bahrain was my bonus race, with a 2nd from the kimster and 4th from paul, not a bad race for me :)

Definitely not bad, pushed you right up to second, and everyone moved down a place because of this.

I've made some urgent repairs to my team, not pleased at all with moving down to 3rd <(

Never rated Maldonado as a driver; just an idiot who crashes too much in my eyes!

A great result for me, with Alonso, Raikkonen, Vettel and Rosberg in the top 6 :D

The quarter way mark comes rolling round, and with everyone using their bonus race, we can finally see how the league is truly shaping up:

1. Bored on March 3rd - ??? - 2696 points
2. Smudgers Slow Coaches - Loco Fitter - 2659 points
3. trainbasher GP - Trainbasher - 2646 points
4. Harbon GP - Harbon 1 - 2626 points
5. Cold Hell - Searle - 2625 points
6. Mojo - Mojo - 2534 points
7. The Spa Stars - Ivo - 2399 points
8. Psycho GP - andrew bell - 2282 points
9. Team Chugaboom - sjj2112 - 2274 points

A late comeback from both Trainbasher GP and Smudgers Slow Coaches shoots them up to 3rd and 2nd, from 8th and 9th. They couldn't reach Bored on March 3rd who remains in top position, with Team Chugaboom unfortunately bringing up the rear in 9th.

Good luck to everyone in the next quarter :D

Well, it looks like interesting Monte Carlo GP meant changes in the top 3

1 Smudgers Slow Coaches 3229
2 trainbasher GP 3209
3 Bored on March 3rd 3195
4 Cold Hell 3162
5 Mojo 3039
6 Harbon GP 3016
7 The Spa Stars 2959
8 Psycho GP 2639
9 Team Chugaboom 2635

Looks like The Spa Stars, Psyco GP and Team Chugaboom retain their bottom spots but Smudgers moves to Pole Position with trainbasher GP only 20 points away.

Harbon GP slips from 4th to 6th with Bored on March 3rd moving to 3rd.

Only a couple of weeks to Canada!

I didn't realise you had to change the Bonus Circuit during the Transfer Window :(

Oh well, no Canada bonus for me - but that said, I would have done very well out of Monaco...

Goodness, I forgot I hadn't updated it :P I'll do that now, thanks Trainbasher.

Also I didn't re select my bonus race, wonder if I'll be able to do that now :(

So... the league

1 Smudgers Slow Coaches - 3294
2 trainbasher GP - 3269
3 Bored on March 3rd - 3265 (ed - too close for comfort!!)
4 Cold Hell - 3247
5 Mojo - 3094
6 Harbon GP - 3036
7 The Spa Stars - 3034 (ed - interestingly close!!)
8 Psycho GP - 2739
9 Team Chugaboom - 2675

No movements this week in Canada, however its a tight fight between Bored on March 3rd in 3rd position and trainbasher GP in 2nd with 4 points seperating the two teams. The Spa Stars remain in 7th position with 2 points between them and Harbon GP in 6th. Could we see some movement in the next race??

We see changes in the league...

1 Bored on March 3rd 3759
2 trainbasher GP 3707
3 Smudgers Slow Coaches 3705 (ed - eeek! Too close for comfort!
4 Cold Hell 3671
5 Psycho GP 3661
6 Team Chugaboom 3651
7 Harbon GP 3589
8 Mojo 3495
9 The Spa Stars 3451

As can be seen, Bored on March 3rd and Smudgers Slow Coaches swap positions with trainbasher GP keeping in 2nd place.

The bottom 4 in the league are, as can be seen, in a state of all change with Team Chugaboom moving from 9th to 6th.

Can trainbasher GP gain some points, enough to avoid the awkward tightness or will they fall to 3rd, or even 4th! A couple of weeks will show!

Thanks, I need to pay attention more!

Also I can't be the only person who seemed to miss out on choosing my second bonus race? :(

Well...it was Silverstone this weekend and you know what that meant. With tyre problems galore it seems natural there would be a casualty in the league this week.

Rank Team Pts.
1 Bored on March 3rd 3824
2 Smudgers Slow Coaches 3790
3 trainbasher GP 3747
4 Cold Hell 3736
5 Psycho GP 3701
6 Team Chugaboom 3686
7 Harbon GP 3639
8 Mojo 3565
9 The Spa Stars 3506

Trainbasher GP failed to gain the advantage over Smudgers Slow Coaches and dropped down to 3rd due to Vettle being forced to retire...yes it was a disaster!

Lets hope we get a few movers in the next race in Germany (yes I'm looking at my team going to 2nd again or even Pole!
