I'm slightly confused by your message. I guess your asking what would NR ask of the companies you supply as part of your references?
Most companies respond with a short message, informing the role you did and length of time. Most companies won't provide additional information (potentially due to risk of being sued).

I guess it depends if the reference is professional or personal. They would surely clarify your previous post, length of service and perhaps how you left, i.e.resigned etc. It will be to confirm what you put on your application and purely to be diligent under their own recruiting policy.
