Things went remarkably well today, unless you were leaving from Glasgow Central or on the Argyle Line to South Lanarkshire. North Clyde was particularly resilient today, given that the roads to Airdrie and Coatbridge were (and, I believe, still are) gridlocked.
You can hardly blame Scotrail for anything today. No-one was prepared for the snowfall in the Central Belt. Many schools opened which shouldn't have (in particular,
this one), a lot of people expected to get to work and simply couldn't, a lot of people are stranded at work, ... I think all in all, we should be thankful that Scotrail ran as many services as they did today. Given that people in Central Scotland seem to be travelling at speeds of no more than 2mph on the main roads, that should give you an idea of the severity of the conditions today.
