Ayr Glasgow, might still be stuck there when you travel, it did look nice however, however wonder how long it will take some of the filth that travel on that route to vandalise it

It has been very helpful to get some specific information on what’s been going wrong with rail services. I am an ordinary passenger who travels from Aviemore to Glasgow on a regular basis and is usually unaware of what sort of train I’m on (other than that there’s no room for luggage and the seats have no padding). Can any of you experts predict what problems are likely to recur at end of this week with further snow and cold temperature forecast?
Specifically I am due to travel from Aviemore to Glasgow on Thurs 16th at 07.24, returning Fri 17th at 17.40, changing at Perth both times. What combination of conditions should I be worrying about? Other than when the snow was deep and drifting, last winter rail services in the Highlands seemed to cope pretty well. That’s why I’ve been so puzzled as to what’s been happening this year and as we know, Scotrail has not gone out of its way to explain the situation.

Travelled on a 380 last night, it formed the 1800 ex Glasgow (6min late), very nice and bright interior, seats not as comfy as 334 but acceptable, very smooth ride, reminds me a bit of the TPE units as I suppose you could expect coming from Siemens.

Yes the interior is very bright . Shame the floor isent carpeted , Have to say sitting on a 334 from Edinburgh to Glasgow on sunday night was uncomfortable. The 380s are like 350s or SWT .

From the look on Stewart Stevenson's face I really don't think he gives a toss about the AB opening, he looks as though he can't wait until his "retirement" in May! To be fair he's taking responsibility for things he really has little control over, are people really so naive that they think governments and ministers actually have real power anymore?

A Transport Scotland spokesman confirmed Mr Brown was not planning to sleep on the job.

He said: "He will be anchored in the Transport Scotland control room on Wednesday evening and will be there all through the night.

"We're expecting the weather situation to deteriorate overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning."

Anyone know about the train that's broken down in Glasgow Central and causing delays and cancellations to Paisley Canal, Ayrshire and Inverclyde services? Was it a 334, 318 or 380?

Besides, I've heard generally good passenger reviews about the service; and nothing about Scotrail keeping OAPs prisoner in the rear carriage.

We aint got them over the East side yet. North Berwick passengers will go loopy. Only 2 bike spaces as opposed to 8 on a 322. Fun and games to come. Hopefully there will be Guards on them though

(Almost) everything that is new fails at first. The media and those with nothing better to do and maybe some passengers will make a fuss, but we just have to get on with it and get them running as required.

If this happened after 6 months, then I would consider it to be significant; but not now, after a couple of weeks of extreme duress, surely?

I'm sure there will be guards on the North Berwicks. We've not had any strikes yet

To be fair to the 380s, they've not had much time to get into service compared to some other modern units. I don't know enough to say for certain, but it might not be the trains themselves that are the problems ATM.

OK OK, lets lighten up a bit. Most new trains have problems. Testing doesnt show up all the problems. Only proper running does. We have to expect this to start with. Now for me to say that about a German built train!! Wonders will never cease!

They struggled to get another unit to rescue it for some reason, it was going empty to shields as it was. No idea what the problem with it was though. Guards will be working them too, Guard Operated Panels (G.O.P) fitted throughout. Looking at April or May before they start on North Berwick anyway. Don't know about bicycle spaces, but I don't think that will be a problem from central anyway.

On a 380 on the Ayr line , nice enough but defo a lot less leg room,which means the smelly jaikies and neds that frequent that service will be invading your personal space, think I might hide in the toilet

Seems so , but each 4 has a nice wee table and power points which is a good addition
