Single Taunton - Poole split tickets

I intend to do this journey on 1st Oct, seems the cheapest single I can find online is £27, looks like I can save £3.60 by splitting at Maiden Newton, not fussed about route or journey time, as I've got all day, but cant dep Taunton before 09.00, any advice from those with better knowledge than me would be welcome, also if I buy tickets online, can I collect from the ticket office at Taunton, as its getting too tight to rely on Royal Mail ! thanks, Bish.

Yes, you can collect the tickets from Taunton.

Just to clarify, you can collect from the ticket machines at Taunton station, not from the counters. You will need the card you used to pay for the tickets.
