There are now loads of SWR coaches there! Anybody know why? Quite a way from SWR territory.
They are the vehicles removed from the Class 458s being refurbished and reduced to 4-car formation by Alstom at Widnes.

Component recovery and then the big train depot in the sky!

Such an obscure collection there right now, looks to be a tube train of some type, random carriages the SWR coaches

As of this evening there's now a short rake of EWS liveried HTA bogie coal hoppers sat behind a GBRf class 66, on the "main line" side of the discarded SWR 458 carriages.

Given the recent end of power station coal flows with GBRf using these wagons, would it be correct to assume that the wagons have been delivered there for disposal?

more likely going to the wagon works the other side of the station to be converted to aggrogates wagons
Ah, that's a definite possibility, thanks. It looked to be far enough removed from the running lines to be within the haulage yard rather than just in the loop, but it was just a passing glimpse.

The whole yard shown on "Trackmaps" as out of use, and as far as I am aware all the other vehicles there have arrived by road - so how much of it is useable from a rail point of view. I must saw that when the schedule appeared I wondered if there had been an error and they were intented for Granville Sidings.

And they were still there as of this Thursday. I noted a lot of vegetation clearance work out as far as the pointwork from the sidings going on earlier this year, but latterly put this down to them anticipating needing additional siding space for the large number of 458 trailers now on site.

There is a small shunter and vans in the yard now.
They've been there for a while now, predating the arrival of most of the ex-SWR 458 trailers: The RES liveried full brake, 92347, was until recently in use by Stratford Bike Hire next to Bobby's Cafe at the North end of the Stratford Greenway on the former Stratford - Cheltenham line.

I haven't been able to identify the departmental yellow vehicle.

Does anyone know the coaches at the Reid Freight Services main yard?

43300 is still in situ, steam locomotive ‘Fenchurch’ and a 153 (I think 365) were both on the low loaders.
