Yup try ur luck everything happends for a reasonJust got invited to the assessment centre again all ready had one in August and failed .must be a mistake
I was thinking that .and pass this time
So I recently had my interview and I was successful which I’m absolutely buzzing about, I really wanted this one!!
If you’ve had to wait for a vacancy to come up after a DMI how long did you wait? I thought SE held a talent pool before the interview stage and only proceeded once vacancies were identified?
Lies won’t work anyway as they can check your name on a data base and if you get found out lying before even passing assesments there will be a big fat 0 chance of you ever being selected again!!If you do go to these assessments and on one of the forms you have to fill out it asks ''have you attended a similar assessment in the last 6 months?'' (or words to that effect).......
What will you say on the form?
Yes, and be asked to leave to give it another go later on or
Lie and say no.
I was told depot vacancy that they wanted me to go to When I passed my MMI SJT
Then when I passed my DMI I was confirmed depot and start date upon passing the medical and references.
which I did![]()
Hi all.
I had my assessments at Tonbridge and thankfully passed in the beginning of July. Just waiting for the DMI now. I see a few of you guys have had and been successful in yours so congrats ! Anyone else in a similar situation to me or have any idea of time scales ? I’m assuming it takes as long as it takes.
Cheers
I got a start date instantly but i guess its dependant on were you are applying and the need for drivers at such depoSo I recently had my interview and I was successful which I’m absolutely buzzing about, I really wanted this one!!

Yh was pretty quick, which I will not complain about at all! 21st is my start date...16days and counting!!That’s a very quick process for you then. I already had my psychometrics wrapped up so I went straight for a DMI. Which depot and when’s your start date? Is it 28th Sept?
I got told at interview that there’s another start date for another batch of drivers in November so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I’ve a managed to get on that course which would be ideal as I have to give 4 weeks notice anyway.
Any luck how did it go?Victoria
Thank you all for your input, advice and help it’s much appreciated. Wish me luck
The same as the ones that they sent practice material for!Hi

Yes 25th SeptemberDo you have an assessment centre date? When is it?
I also agree, all you need is the practice materials. Go through them a few times.
I have mate I've got my start date later this month, the important part at the assessment centre is too listen to instructions and ask questions if you are not sure, I promise you others will be wanting to ask anyway, they are there to give you the best chance you have of passing.Yes 25th September
I've just gone through the practice materials, as i didn't bother when they initially sent them out
Have you attended an assessment day
Thanks so muchI would advise that you download the group bourdon tool that is in the main sticky thread, it will only work on a pc/laptop nothing apple or tablet based and practise that a bit
Thanks and congratulations. Its been 6 years since I last failed , so God willing this is my timeI have mate I've got my start date later this month, the important part at the assessment centre is too listen to instructions and ask questions if you are not sure, I promise you others will be wanting to ask anyway, they are there to give you the best chance you have of passing.

Congrats mateI have previously attended an assessment day for a different role so I didn’t need to attend an assessment centre as it’s been within 3 years. Recently had a DMI and I passed so I’m waiting for a medical and a start date.
Definitely go through the practice material! Thanks so much

print off the group Bourdon! And do it paper based the online tool is not the same! (Just my advice)
Try to understand the concept of the practices rather than try to just get through them as the real ones are identical but not the same and if you don’t understand the concept you will struggle. YouTube is also your friend you can easily search the tests there and it will give you a proper insight! (Again just my advice)
I don’t agree with ppl that say this is a have it not assessment. You can learn and develop your skills like you did when you 1st learned to walk! Just depends how bad you want it.
This forum has a wealth of info and advice if you use the search bar up top and just search.
main personal things To remember are
Keep calm
Get plenty of rest
Not too much coffee
And ask ask ask if you don’t understand don’t be ashamed to ask 10xs if you need to!
Best of luck mate!
Congratulations mate!
well done!
You seem well prepared just listen carefully to the instructions on the day and you will be fine what depot are you applying forI'm going to bring headphones to listen to music and some snacks, so hopefully that will calm down any nerves. Will let you know how it goes.
Thanks so much for the advice. I've gone through the practice materials and I also had purchased the how 2 become pack 4 years ago and its been really helpful, especially for the computerised tests. I'm quite confident on everything other than group bourdon but I've practised all 50 pages from how2become book already, so will try to find online more pages to print. Will let you know how it goes anyway
