Yes, think so. There's a list of which ones have gone which i believe is the first post in the thread.Has 455 811 been scrapped yet?
Not sure what I'm doing wrong but it never shows the most recent messages until I post mine, then it shows up... sorry I repeated the exact same thing you said hahaYes, according to the frequently updated list in post #1. Went 26th May as per post #1046.

No idea I’m afraid but 66726 is the loco on today’s moveHave we got the id of the 455s headed to Newport today?
Thanks! Of course, I knew the time would come soon anyway but 455801 was my favourite 455. Not only because it was the first but it had one of the best sounding EE507’s out of the whole fleet, so really sad to see it go for scrap. 455807 was also another I had many journeys on.5801 & 5807
A shame indeed. I had wondered if 801s surprisingly lengthy stay of execution would lead to something more positive. Thanks! So which will be the last pair of Southern 455’s to leave Stewart’s Lane?
Confirmed earlier on Tuesday 09th August 2022. With 66726 Sheffield Wednesday the Arlington vans and 455807 and 455801.5801 & 5807
Thanks!
GBRF’s newest 66, 66734 in Platinum Jubilee livery is today’s loco so should certainly attract attention.
This should then leave the following three pairs at Stewart’s Lane:
455801/455807
455804/455819
455812/455836
The post you replied to would have been correct when written though, on 26 July. The tracking software we have at work shows 804, 812, 819 and 836 at Stewarts Lane. Not long to go
On their way to Newport now behind 667265836/5812 due to go tomorrow.
Confirmed from a lovely warm sunny Imperial wharf 5Q55 66726 Sheffield Wednesday with 455836 455812. Plus the Arlington vans as usual. Heading in the clear sunny skies for scrap. Around 12 minutes early. 455836 455812 now waiting scrap very shortly at Newport Docks .On their way to Newport now behind 66726

So 455804/455819 will be the final two Southern 455's. Makes sense given they were the last two to run under their own power last month.5836/5812 due to go tomorrow.
If preservation is possible then there's still plenty of SWR ones to try and source one from, but it depends what a potential preserver would want to do with it.Any more news on the last two SN 455/8 units? Was keeping my fingers crossed for a last minute saviour but I am not sure if preservation is possible, especially if Eversholt have a contract in place to scrap all 46 units(?)
Agreed, one would hope said potential preserver would want to reinstate the original traction equipment, I do miss the sound of a 455's DC motor on the SWR (formerly NSE and then SWT) network! If preservation is possible then there's still plenty of SWR ones to try and source one from, but it depends what a potential preserver would want to do with it.
I am fairly certain that the fate is sealed for the last two.Any more news on the last two SN 455/8 units? Was keeping my fingers crossed for a last minute saviour but I am not sure if preservation is possible, especially if Eversholt have a contract in place to scrap all 46 units(?)
Cheers for the information, I would happily go and see them off on their way to Newport but alas, my schedule is rammed at the moment, hoping someone manages to record them leaving Stewarts Lane!I am fairly certain that the fate is sealed for the last two.

It really is, was distantly hoping for one of each to enter preservation (1x SWR 455/7 + 455/8 + 455/9 + 456/0, + 1x SN 455/8), but alas, the scrapman seems to have secured the fate of the former two for good, it seems that this really is the end of BREL on London's Metro routesEnd of an era. Victoria and London Bridge (and eventually Waterloo) won't be the same without them.
There was never any hope of that happening. It really is, was distantly hoping for one of each to enter preservation (1x SWR 455/7 + 455/8 + 455/9 + 456/0, + 1x SN 455/8), but alas, the scrapman seems to have secured the fate of the former two for good, it seems that this really is the end of BREL on London's Metro routes
Interesting that this one is on a Monday, wonder why that is?Diagram has appeared for Monday
Buying one is the easy bit, trust me I knowIt really is, was distantly hoping for one of each to enter preservation (1x SWR 455/7 + 455/8 + 455/9 + 456/0, + 1x SN 455/8), but alas, the scrapman seems to have secured the fate of the former two for good, it seems that this really is the end of BREL on London's Metro routes
There’s still the SWR ones which are closer to their original condition…So looks like the last 455 tomorrow I'm surprised none was preserved
