I think it will depends on the TOC and station involved. I doubt there is a blanket policy across the industry.

It depends on the TOC, for example with my TOC there are certain stations where staff parking is heavily restricted to local staff who work there but there are agreements in place with other TOCs for staff to use their car parks at other locations.

District is right in saying that there is no blanket policy across the rail industry.

The TOC I work for are quite good with that, normally you can nominate two stations for a Parking permit, one near where you live and one at the station you're based at. :D

As HLE said though, it depends on the station, some have quite limited parking even for passengers, so it may be that there is no staff parking at such a station, Hampton Wick and Norbiton come to mind in my area.

ahh, was wondering if you'd get a permit if you worked for London Midland?

Here down south on Southern we get free parking at stations with space. I work at Brighton and have free parking at Brighton station. Some get parking at a local station, if there is space and a pass for Brighton. I can nominate two cars for my parking at Brighton. Damm handy as well when you start at 4.30 am, not many buses around, or finnish at 2am.
Local stations with no parking incluse Preston park, london rd, moulscombe etc

Put a hi-viz over the front passenger seat, or on the dashboard. At least, that's what I used to do...

Unfortunately, Maps has stopped.
Got my temporary one from London Midland today, covers me for Northampton station. You have to fill in a form to get a permanent permit, which I was given today. Easy.
Certainly you'll have to pay for the first day or two, though. Going rate at NMP is 8 squids a day.

They share the car park at St Pancras, although I don't know the exact arrangements.

There's a car park? I know where the Kings Cross one used to be, where's the St Pancras one then?
