Thats normal, The two X27 runs at 06.20 and 07.07 do use Scania as when there arr in Kirkcaldy both go on to the X57 at 07.00 and 07.47, instead of dead running's .

I'm surprised there dont do the same when the X57 come back in the evening, especial with all the complaints around Vic Hospital.

The X27 does not serve Victoria Hospital when departing Kirkcaldy bus station bound for Dunfermline, so there would be little benefit to service back at this time.

Who says? ;) The could have easily reroute one journey to operate the other way around the loop, Or even still run it empty to Vic then back around.

Nearly all the changes are linked to School works etc for Perth and kinross council.

Those two are interesting...

The current operator of the Perth park and ride is Smith and sons. However, they've apparently decided to cease trading, and so Stagecoach has took over. That also explains a lot of school contract work being surrendered by smiths.

Slightly outwith East Scotland, but as it runs through their territory, the Panda express, route X1, run by Bluebird, will end on 20th August. Hasn't took off as well as hoped. Personally, I didn't expect it to last. The best approach would've been to run the service only during the summer holidays, and indeed the X1 will end when the schools return in Scotland.

X1 was a joke, and the fare were a bigger joke! it was cheaper to travel from Ayr than Dundee! and if your spending that kinds of money you would like more than 3 hours in the zoo!

Stagecoach West Scotland Scanias 15615-7 have arrived at Strathtays Dundee depot, to cover for three E400s there going to the olympics. The vehilces were completed by Alexanders earlier than planned, hence this move, which has allowed 3 extra vehicles to go London bound.

Volvo B7TL's are now regualr perofrmers on Fife routes 36 and 65, with one always ending up at newburgh outstation.

Some fleet changes in Fife I heard about today. Aberhill now has 17299/17332/17335. They replace 22579 which I think is at Dunfermline whilst 22580/81 I believe are at Arbroath. 52420 is at St.Andrews to replace 52460 in a bid to make service 23 more reliable.

I heard a murmur that 19662 is now repaired and will be heading down to London for the Olympics, along with some other Enviro 400s no doubt.

Some ex Strathtay Volvo B10BLEs are in store, ready for use as cover during the olympics.

Incidentally, it's the T in the Park music this weekend, so expect the Rennies double decker fleet, and some vehicles from the main fleet, in use for this event.

When are the current fleet used on the dundee to arbroath 73 route heading down to london for the Olympics and how many are going down. How many Volvo B10BLEs are going to cover for them?

20338 has a rear end adverting for child fostering, and has carried it for a couple of months. This suggests it might not be ousted when the new Scanias arrive in October.

Also, an unidentified Optare Solo was given minor damage on Thursday while doing a 201 working in Kinross, after a van hit it and then sped off. The driver (who is the husband of my manager at work) and the passengers were unhurt, and one passenger also got the reg of the van.

swines. Where are new Scans going to work?

St. Andrews, for the 99 group. The current MAN 18.220s at that depot, used on the 99, will probably be split between staying at St. Andrews, to oust the three remaining non accessible single deck vehicles (namely one B10M-55 and two coaches, used on the 23), and spread around other depots. The amount due is not clear. Some sources say 7, others say 9, someone even claimed 11.

It will be 11 - direct 1 for 1 replacements of the MANs.
3 or 4 MANs will stay at St Andrews as B10M replacements with the rest moving on. exactly where though rather depends - don't forget Aberhill are due 9 B13Rs so there will be even more vehicles floating around.

I'll be surprised if Aberhill get any tri-axle coaches. Rumour has it Dunfermline will do the vast majority of the X24 work. They are being given an extra 2 bus workings and Aberhill will do the majority of the X26 work, possibly with new B9s? Time will tell.

I doubt any new B9s will appear any time soon, since the B7 are only 6-7 years old, and this with new lot of Tri-axles it will get rid of all the remaining B10m coaches. I would expect B7 to last at least another 3 years...

Anyone interested 4 Aberdeen Alx300 have been dumped into Dunfermline due to You know what having use of them until September

With regards to the takeover of the Broxden - Perth City Centre park and ride by Stagecoach Perth, two of the ousted E300 Gold service buses from route 7 (which have been ousted by the new hybrids) will be repainted into P&R livery for this service. The PVR is two, so it's likely that one of the other gold service vehicles will be used if one of the P&R buses isn't available.

Meanwhile, the few remaining examples of the 1999 batch of MAN 18.220s delivered to Fife, 22252-68, which remain in East Scotland, have now lost their names, commemorating long closed pits in west fife. Ordered for route 19, Rosyth - Ballingry, each was named after a pit, the service operating right across the former west fife coalfield.

The falkirk council supported journeys on route 15 (Falkirk - Kincardine - Alloa) are being operated by Stagecoach Fife's Dunfermline depot from 20th August. The daytime service is operated by First, the Evening and Sunday service reverts to Stagecoach Fife, and interestingly, the timetable states that the daytime service is oeprated by First, and a telephone number to contact for more information. New service X78 also starts at this time, this is placing journeys for the two buses to be used on the 15 group.

It has been noted on Facebook that the ex-Magic Bus Olympians have had their Magic Bus fleetnames replaced with School Bus.

Likely just be there for about a year, until more low floor deckers arrive.

E400 19553, from Cowdenbeath depot, which was due to go to the games, is still worknig off Cowdenbeath, and is now unlikely to head down south. This is due to it having a contravision advert on the front upper deck windscreen for the unirider ticket.

While in arbroath today, I saw a double Decker stagecoach in fife bus in the bus station, along with a few stagecoach in the highland buses and a stagecoach bluebird working the X7 coastrider service.

To E400s from Fife were swapped with two 55 plated Tridents from Strathtay, which explains the in Fife ledgend you saw. As regards the bluebird coach, the X7 is a joint Strathtay/Bluebird service.
