Good luck to him it's all I say. As regards to stagecoach in Caithness, does the x99 still exist? I've gone from being a regular on it a decade ago to having not had need to use it for nearly 6 years.
Stagecoach have registered a number of services in the Inverness/tain/aviemore area from January 2023. Anyone know more about this?
More Yutong E10s appear to have been delivered to Inverness this week. I wonder when they will enter service?
Under-fire bus firm Stagecoach has appointed a new managing director in the south west. Peter Knight, who currently heads up the firm’s operation in north-east Scotland, will be in the driving seat from December – replacing Mike Watson after he resigned from the role.
This is indeed true. I'm surprised there hasn't been any formal announcement yet as the duties etc are already out internally.Rumour going round on a local community page that some of the Aberdeen based night services are returning on a trial basis from this weekend for the Xmas period. Struggling to find corroboration of this and wondered if any truth to it?
Who's found a shed load of pound coins down the back of the sofa!! i.e. who's footing the bill? The services start from the 2nd December and will be free to use.

They're apparently being funded by the council, albeit I've not seen any official confirmation of that. They have not been registered in time to charge fares.

310101 - 310120 E10 Yutongs are now up in the Scottish Highlands but the buses so far they have replaced are 2010 Enviro 200s. The new B8RLE 21369 - 21398 & 39501-39507 have seen all of Skye's Volvo B7RLE withdrawn as well as all of Orkneys old buses being withdrawn. The buses are apparently going to Ensign. The delivery of Electric vehicles to the Scottish fleets will result in some more cascades of 'mid-life' single deckers to south of the border.
The overall UK bus fleet is certain to shrink in the next 18 months due to spending cuts/post covid demand changes/staff issues.
There is also a trickle of ex - London vehicles, which though they may be mechanically 'hammered' & have centre doors etc, are all now Euro 6 compliant and provide a cheap solution for some operators i.e First have just acquired some for operations in Essex.
Thanks for this info, are the 17 Enviro 400MMC 'over & above' the 200 recently announced orders? The four B7RLE were sold for preservation, the fleetcard had them as for scrap but this was inaccurate.
Highland are also due a further 20 Evoras (16 12.9M & 4 10.8M) and 17 Enviro400MMCs, these will replace most if not all of the Pre-MMC Enviros in the fleet, of those at least 7 E400s are due to move to Bluebird to replace Olympus' 16945-48 & Ex-Dublin B7TLs 16974/75/77. Bluebird are also due to recive most of Highlands Enviro200s to replace the older style Solos. It's believed that the 63 plates will go to Buchan replacing the 474xx Solos while the 64 plates will go to Aberdeenshire replacing the 476xx Solos. Enviro200 36583 has already moved to Elgin.
On a seperate note the new Enviro400EVs for Aberdeen are ready for delivery pending the charging points at Union Square becoming operational. Notably these are in local livery rather than the electric variant 14035-56 carry and have standard mirrors.
No they're part of that order. The E400MMCs are 11781-97 while the Evoras will be 21401-16 & 39508-11.Thanks for this info, are the 17 Enviro 400MMC 'over & above' the 200 recently announced orders?
They are additional, the 200 announced will be numbered 11581 to 11780Thanks for this info, are the 17 Enviro 400MMC 'over & above' the 200 recently announced orders?
Aberdeen Inspired are claiming over 2,200 passengers used the services over the 3 weekends. I am not sure if this is possible, they have put out dubious statistics about things before! It was said that there were over 200 passengers in total on the 11 services for the first weekend.

Free night buses, operated by Stagecoach Bluebird, ran for three weekends up to Christmas. Funded by Aberdeen Inspired and Aberdeen City Council more than 2,200 passengers rode the buses for free to ensure a safe and smooth return home after a night out in Aberdeen city centre. Extremely popular the provision of this service also helped to ease the congestion at taxi ranks, particularly during the cold spell of weather and helped to support Aberdeen's night-time economy and hospitality.
