Bluebird’s Elites can’t be transferred because they need them for the 10 and 35 along with the E400MMCs. What’ll probably happen if the Citylink Elites can’t be used is coaches from other opcos will be transferred, for example some East Scotland coaches could be transferred if the citylinks can’t be used

East Scotland has tons of Coaches so they could transfer a few if the Inverness Elites can’t be used
East Scotland are using E300 single decker buses on a lot of runs as they are short of coaches

So it would appear Orkney have lent 21388 to Aberdeen in exchange for 84065, going to Orkney for a trial. I wonder why Orkney don’t just fix/use 48906
84065 has specifically gone to Orkney for use on the T11 service which in previous years has frequently had to operate with two Evoras due to capacity issues.

Oh right, wonder why it was originally moved to Highlands fleetlist then. Although one of them definitely has been sent to Orkney, the way I interpret it is whatevee one hasn’t been tracking recently
84066 was tracking as going up there yesterday (Friday).

I would not have thought with the weather and conditions that double deckers were advisable for all year use
There's now four double deckers being used on Isle of Lewis which has similar conditions. They are not much higher than a coach

I’ll believe that when it actually happens. If they did give us those im hoping at least 1 is just given to Inverness. Absolutely hate the Yutongs and i like Aberdeens double decker electrics
i feel the same, will believe it when i see it happen in person, not on bustimes :D

Only rumors, but if this trial goes well, Orkney could be getting 10 from bluebird for possibly permanent use.
There has been rumours that 10 would be departing Bluebird after the May August changes for a while now, but they'd mostly be going to Inverness with Bluebird getting Yutongs in exchange.

84066 is only meant to be going to Orkney for use on the T11 over the summer. Open top Dennis Trident 17470 was sent up to Orkney around two years ago for the service but has spent the last two seasons off the road as such the service had been operating with Evoras regularly needing a duplicate to deal with capacity issues. As @Volvodart notes deckers are not suitable in Orkney for much of the year due to weather conditions, in fact company policy historically was to not use deckers in Caithness or Orkney hence why those areas have always favoured 70 seat coaches for higher capacity.

Except they're mostly used for ferry shuttles and its highly unlikely that all four will be staying beyond the summer season. Orkney (and Caithness) have had incidents almost on an annual basis with single deckers and coaches being essentially blown off the road during periods of high winds, i'd dread to think how much the frequency of this would increase with a fleet of deckers. Bluebird already have enough operational issues in the winter as it is with there being too many deckers in the fleet.

84035 (LC71KUX) is looking great in it's new retro Bluebird Northern livery!

There is a photo link here:

It just looks wrong. First of all, the angle of the blue and yellow bands at the back is far too steep - it looks almost vertical. Secondly, the fleet name should be yellow and blue, not orange and blue; they made the same mistake with the single-decker that was done a couple of years ago. (See photo here: https://www.route-one.net/operators/stagecoach-bluebird-marks-heritage-with-enviro300-repaint/)

The location of the fleet name also looks a bit strange. I realise that the T advert frame is going to be a constraint, but if they moved the "Bluebird Northern" a bit further back and down by an inch or two it'd look much better.

The 19 August 2024 changes are starting to be registered with the Traffic Commissioner. Bluebird appears to be registering Highland's services from then too, apart from Orkney services.

Can anyone confirm why 6 ex-london E200s (36285/9/96/7/356/95) have transferred to bluebird? Are these for service or spares?

100% just someone making false edits but if it is true then I don’t see why they’ve transferred, doesn’t make any sense

If i had to guess if they have or are getting transferred it’ll be them getting converted to training buses
I wouldn't write it off just yet, Stagecoach are also sending some to Yorkshire and North East for driver training and spares

Someone who I think works for Bluebird said on another forum that this was not correct, but he did not say in what regard.

Incorrect in the sense that they have not transferred at all. 36285/9/96/97 are parked in London awaiting service increases.
36356 has only just gone onto the disposal list.
36395 has been returned off lease, so is no longer in group.

Elgin Depot don't appear to be having a great day today if bustimes is to be believed. There are E200 (classics) on all of the 10, 35, and M96.

My question is what gearboxes do Elgin's current E200 allocation have? And can you tell from the fleet number? I assume they all have the 4.5L engine.

Apologies if already answered, I remember asking this a while ago but I searched and couldn't find an answer.

For reference, bustimes says Elgin currently has E200s:
36046 SV08 GUO
36048 SV08 GUW
36066 SY57 AXR
36953 YX63 LGZ
36955 YX63 LHB
36956 YX63 LHC
36957 YX63 LHD
37256 SL64 HWN
37257 SL64 HWP
37258 SL64 HWR
From https://bustimes.org/operators/stagecoach-north-scotland/vehicles. You need to view the desktop site in order to see the garages. Bustimes.org disclaimer:
bustimes.org said:
This is not a fleet list. It’s a list of Stagecoach Bluebird ticket machines, created as a by-product of the live bus tracking system.

Remember:

Ticket machines IDs might not correspond with the actual vehicles they’re attached to. Equipment is often swapped between vehicles.
Vehicles don’t always track all the time. If a journey isn’t listed, it doesn’t necessarily mean it didn’t operate.
“Garage” information is worked out automatically, using the Garage field in the operator’s timetable data and the last trip a vehicle worked.

36048 on the M96 actually being 54823 today.
36956 has been 21414 recently.

The 35 and X35 are more likely to be accurate, as single decker MMCs are usually on the 10 and M96 if need be.
36046/66 are non low emission zone compliant so would only go as far east as Elgin or Macduff.
