Good to finally see Kendal getting some investment elsewhere than the 555!

I didn't realise your mate James was also driving for Kendal over summer Paul....! (Well, until he was driving 18354 which took me home )

Events in Morecambe Sat 28th & Sun 29th May

As has been mentioned on Sat 28th May there is the Stagecoach Open Day at the depot at White Lund where Ribble Vehicle Preservation Trust vehicles will be helping with the various shuttle services, then on Sunday the RVPT are holding a running day at Morecambe with a display of vehicles near the Midland Hotel and operating a free service between Heysham Village and Carnforth between 10.00 and 17.00 though it will only stop at the places I have mentioned. It will include one or two surprise vehicles including one not seen on these shores since 1979 !

Workington and Whitehaven town services were both fully low floor today - with a spare Solo to go on the short 302, which fell to 47024 (which it clearly did not like!). 47024 appeared to be on 46's/47 earlier, then pulled off for the hosepipe treatment. 47023 was took off Moorclose 50 and replaced it.

16447 did two runs on Moorclose 50, before 47060 replaced it, 16447 did the 1204 run to Whitehaven and back on the short 302 (before 47024 cooled itself off and willingly took over).

47006 also reappeared late this afternoon after not being seen since March when it broke down on Washington Street, sounding smoother and with newly painted rear bumper. It went onto 46's/47 replacing 47023.

Also, what looked to be 47753, was in the back of the depot.

Speaking of West Cumbrianified, 16649 is sounding more and more like 16651-16654 every time I see it! It still seems to move off better, but sounds rougher each time its out.

20910 and 20945 on X4.
53336 and 53338 are X5.
20436 replaced 22595 on 30.
22609 on 302.

AV3 was out in force again.

More knackered 51 reg's for West Cumbria  At least these 2 are 29 seaters, rather than the usual 27.

Wonder if they're in the mood for a few runs to Keswick and back.... :|

They are  squealling like a banshee as usual! 47024's gearbox isn't happy either.

35249 sounded like a bag of spanners on the 31A today....

It'll be "usual clapped out stuff" from Lillyhall. 3 of them in fact.
Newer double deckers are coming in from other areas (some deckers from Western and Enviro 400's from Newcastle I believe), and there's supposed to be Tridents from Kendal and Barrow.
Would make no sense at all for LL's Scania's to go for it, because many people will still be using the 300-302 service to get to Carlisle for the event, then taking the shuttle from Carlisle to the airport. Better to still have Scania's on 300-302, than shove a full double decker load on a MAN E300 from 30/31.

It's a pity I won't be here to see what the newer busses is like I'll be in Edinburgh. What buses are gonna be used tommorow between Workington and Whitehaven?

Not correct, Reays have had to get First Rail replacement to organise the shuttle service, First Rail have then contracted some Stagecoach vehicles to operate from Carlisle airport to Carlisle in the evenings only.
Also what a rip off £20 return from West Cumbria to Carlisle

3 Volvo Olympians going from West Cumbria for the above

That's cheap, compared to the £10 return from City Centre to the Airport to pay on the day.....
They've got it all cornered though, most people are forced into paying the ridiculous charges. The first shuttle bus isn't leaving until 22:30, so people on that probably wouldn't catch the 22:45 300. They certainly don't have any chance of getting the last train at 21:45.....

I hope tommorow's 22:45 300 from Carlisle isn't a MAN, because I'll be a passenger on it, and it is gonna be crammed if people are coming back from being on the p*ss all night after the CFM radio party.

I want 52628 on the night 22:45 300 from Carlisle tommorow that would be awsome!

The 13 Enviro 400's from Stagecoach Busways are no longer attending as they ar enot needed. IIRC its 3 from Lillyhall, 2 Kendal, 2 Carlisle, 2 Dumfries, 2 Morecambe & 2 Barrow. 2 spares from Chorley incase of breakdowns but they will likely be based at Chorley still.

Last I heard bus will have a poster in the window saying "on hire to Reays".

Going to be a busy 2 nights, there are inspectors out on the streets and spare drivers/buses for the normal routes incase they need to dupe them.

They have been advised to use a Scania on that run. Doesn't mean they will though!

Speaking of deckers at Lillyhall, the decker slot on service 30/31 is going 15 mins behind its current one when the new Lillyhall schedules start.

You dont want a man coz it'l be crammed but you want 52628? yeah that makes sense eh NOT

What are you going on about here? You don't make sense because you don't put any punctuation into your sentences.

52628 is better than MAN E300's actually. Have a little think about it 52628 has higher seating capacity than a MAN!

Quite easy to understand what he is saying. He is pointing out that you would not like a E300 but would like a Coach when there is not a great deal difference capacity wise. Neither are suitable, if they had any sense 16124 should be used! If it doesn't do the actual shuttle service.
