While on the M4 this afternoon I saw an Enviro200 MMC heading eastbound between J32 (Cardiff North / A470) and J30 (Cardiff Gate). This would be one of the new ones for the depot in Porth. Interestingly, however, the bus was in Stagecoach Gold livery. I mentioned this to a friend of mine who informs me that he heard that Services 120 & 132 are going Gold. I wonder where the Enviro200s currently on the 120 & 132 will go?

The green P&R has started to be re-vynaled by the looks of it, could only see one change, it's gone from every 12 mins to every 10 mins

So looks like it won't be going on to Sowton P&R then?

I couldn't comment on if it would be going elsewhere, as I don't have a clue, but the increased frequency is probably due to the move down to the new site, to help drivers make it back up to town to make the changes.

Evening all,

Had to go to Cwmbran today so I took a look through the fence of the Stagecoach depot. Counted 18 of the Enviro200 MMCs which are for Porth (due in service 05-Dec-2016 I believe) and made notes.

I noted the registrations for 10 of the buses as being YX66 WJA/WJD-WJF/WJL/WJN/WJU as well as YX66 WKA/WKB & YX66 WKF. As can be seen from the attached photo there were no fleet numbers or route brandings applied.

And, before anyone asks, the photos that I got were obtained by pointing my phone camera through the fence! Anyway any attempt to do things in an illicit manner would have failed: the wire in the foreground was connected to what I think was a CCTV camera which was mounted on a tripod of which one of the legs can be seen on the right.

Further to the message by "iantherev" (post #752) all the Enviro200 MMCs I saw were in Stagecoach Gold livery.

The photo attached is of YX66 WJL. I must admit I think they look quite good in the livery and hope that, once they enter service, I will get the chance of a ride on one sooner or later.

Edit: I understand that the full batch will have fleetnumbers 26088-26111 and that the registrations will be YX66 WHS-WHW/WHZ, YX66 WJA/WJC-WJF/WJJ-WJO/WJU/WJV/WJY/WJZ as well as YX66 WKA/WKB/WKF making a batch of 24 vehicles overall. They will be for Service 132 between Maerdy and Cardiff. Curiously enough, YX66 WKF will, I hear, be 26099 but YX66 WKA and YX66 WKB will be 26110 & 26111 respectively.

HTIOI,
Dave

New posters are up in the green P&R, going from the city to matford its 6.17, 6.47, 7.02, then every 10 mins till 18.32, and the final bus at 18.45. On unrelated news, been hearing rounded that we may be getting some new e200mmcs at some point!

The Green Park & Ride is also being extended to Sowton.

Route Sounds like it will be Matford - Fore Street - High Street - Sidwell Street - Sowton. to free up space at the Paris Street and South Street stops.

That will muck up the colour coded route branding. It does however, put things back to where they were in the early days of Park & Ride in Exeter. The route was split at the behest of the council to reduce the number of buses in the High Street.

West update:
18082 VX04 GHF and 18086 VX04 GHK are now up in Scotland with the western fleet after making the long journey yesterday from Gloucester to their new home.

The 09 Gold Scania'S are now out on the 63/97/98 services. They will be fully fledged gold services hopefully early Jan.
Branding will be done as soon as they get the OK.

MMC's have settled into life on the 94 service and much positive feedback on the new timetable and vehicles.

Thought 18082/6 were going to East Scotland? What are they going to replace at West Scotland?

Given the unreliability of the Green, I would think the Blue reliability will suffer a lot as a result on this, but at least drivers will be able to get to and from matford more easily! Hopefully driver changes will also move to the high Street as it is hugely annoying to wait for 5 minutes on the High Street for time, only to wait 5 more minutes whilst they change drivers at the bus station thereby making the but 5 minutes late!

It didn't work last time they did it, can't see a reason why this time would be any more successful! May have to rely on the bus less to get into work now!

It is to free up the stops on Paris Street and South Street for the Bus Station works apparently.

The remaining 7 Gold E300 from South will appear in Period 9 Fleet Movements.

Services 63/66E/F/Q/S and 97/98 going to gold operation from Jan 22nd.

Service F in Cheltenham transfers to Stagecoach from independent operator Marchants on the same date, being extended to GCHQ Benhall and Glos Airport.
Service A will have that extension removed and finish at GCHQ.
So timetables will be altered.

They have also lost services P and Q to Pulhams.

Timetables should be available on traveline.sw from Dec 16th

And indeed they have. Noted this afternoon in Caerphilly on Service 26 (Cardiff - Blackwood) was a Scania / Enviro300 which I believe to have been 28736 (YN15 KGK).

Can anyone advise of a route I was following earlier.

A stagecoach Solo heading west in cornwall on A38 through landrake, tideford, before turning left at trerulefoot roundabout. The rear blind displaying 124. It will have been around 1030 this morning.

I can't find any route info on Stagecoach's webpage and am curious what route it will have been on.

Pass. If you look on TravelineSW the only Service 124 it knows of is around the Christchurch / Bournemouth area (Castlepoint - Christchurch - Purewell) and the only other 124 I have ever come across is with Stagecoach South Wales. Perhaps ScSW had sold one of their Solos to an operator in Cornwall?

I may have solved the query,

Waitrose free shopper bus, Wednesday only was operated by First in the 2013 timetable I've located. The timings would match a empty run to start the 124 at 1130.

The 124 is a Torpoint-St Germans-Landrake-Saltash free shopper bus that Stagecoach operate on behalf of Waitrose along with the 121/122/125 & 126 from other areas though Waitrose are still advertising the routes as being operated by First (not that Alex Carter has any buses in the area nowadays)!!!

Blimey, an axe is being taken to alot of routes into Exeter. The 5s, X38, and 2 all getting a trimming. All down to decline in use, allegedly. 39 is getting a boost, though.

The 2 going to 2ph instead of four is going to have some repercussions on the local rail services. Seats arnt exactly abundant when they get to Teignmouth as it is!

The X38 was an obvious to be trimmed, effectively being replaced with the Falcon

Yes quite. Details, along with links to new timetables, are given here:
https://www.stagecoachbus.com/promo...er-area-timetable-changes-from-3-january-2017

As for the X38, although the connections are timed to be fairly convenient it will be unfortunate for some if the 'Gold' bus arrives too late for the connection onto the X38. However it may be that Stagecoach will lay down a requirement for the X38 to delay departure if the Gold bus doesn't turn up on time. Saying that, if the Falcon was rerouted through Buckfastleigh during the daytime it would probably almost entirely see off the X38.
