Stalybridge to Folkestone 19th April 2014

Looking to see if anyone can help me with a decent fare for this journey, have already sorted return travel for the day after but looks like engineering work on the WMCL for that day and no decent fares showing from Manchester.

The best fare I've found so far is £49.50 advance from Leeds, departing at 13.05 which would mean me buying a single from Stalybridge at £14.60 - Total of £64.10.

I'm in no particular hurry as the visit is for a gig but ideally arriving by 18.00. I have no railcards.

EMT London routes are not yet on sale. It may be cheaper to do Stalybridge - Manchester, Manchester - Sheffield and Sheffield - Folkestone Stations when they go on sale. Alternatively splitting at Nottingham instead of Sheffield may also work.

Trains can be cheaper brings it down to £60.60 off peak.

If you specify Stalybridge to London via Leeds on the EC website it'll give you a £50.50 through fare. Two hours later, arriving 1742 it's £31.35 for STD (or £55.85 for first class travel).
