Looks like its a while since it overnighted at Long Rock
HSTs are usually immaculate when starting from Penzance
Currently onboard a GWR HST, and quite frankly the state of the train is completely unacceptable!
There's a very strong damp smell, and the plug sockets are completely covered in mould!
It's set OC30, formed 43087 41008 40703 42079 42552 42236 42251 42080 44026 43158.Do you have a vehicle number or the service details to identify which train?
Was the 0903 PAD - PLY, with 43158 & 43087

Looks like they are just running them into the ground now, that is the ones that`ll be scrapped pretty soon.
It was the same on the WCML with the MK3 stock in the early 2000's to make to new IET's look really good for all those tourists (Asian) on the PAD-OXF fast.Yeah there's running them into the ground, and sending out something that could be classed as a health hazard (especially if you're asmatic!)
The state of OC30 has been taken up internally at GWR at a very senior level as it is not the intention to put out stock like that.
As the HST sets are getting towards the end of their shopping periodicity, they won't be as good as if they have just come off classified repairs (especially the riding, which will get progressively lively) but there is little excuse to put out minging sets.
No - that was OC44.Was this the set that recently came out of storage in Landore?
I know that on R2 there are currently over 20 defects logged against set OC30 including roof leaks, all of which were logged before this thread was started.
Because a leaky train is better than no train? Why tf was it sent out then?
It’s not like they are short of sets, though, is it?Because a leaky train is better than no train?
