Guiseley is one of the two stations nearest to Leeds Bradford Airport; the other one is Horsforth, which is on the Harrogate Line.

Cattal is at the western end of a dual track section from Hammerton. Eastbound trains are timetabled to arrive first on the dual track section, so as to clear the single line westwards towards Knaresborough.

Doncaster is a junction for a number of services. One of these is the line to Lincoln, which provides trains to, amongst other places, Gainsborough Lea Road.

Buckshaw Parkway is the newest of the three stations bearing the suffix "Parkway" in the North West of England. The oldest, opened in 1999, is Horwich Parkway.

Horwich Parkway is unusual in that the station facilities are not managed by either a TOC or Network Rail (TfGM manage this station).
Another of the small handful of stations in this category is Southend Airport.

When Southend Airport officially opened as a municipal airport in 1935, the Mayor of Southend suggested that it would be a good idea to open a railway station to serve the airport. For the first 75 years of the airport's operation until Southend Airport station opened in 2011, the nearest railway station was Rochford on the Shenfield to Southend Line.
