Birmingham New Street also shares part of its name with an 'International' station, to which it also has a direct rail link.

Newport, South Wales is also a station which was once known by a longer name; Bournemouth was once "East" and later "Central", Newport was once "High Street".

Loughborough also had a locomotive works nearby in it's past (English Electric Vulcan Foundry at Newton-le-Willows, and Brush Falcon Works at Loughborough).

Mr E S Prior was the Station Master at Falmouth Docks between 1926 and 1929; he had previously had the same post at Camborne between 1919 and 1926.

Alfred Uren was the Station Master at Redruth between 1896 and 1912, having previously held the same post at Exeter St Thomas.

The station building at Hoxton on the East London Line was also designed by the British architectural firm Weston Williamson.
