Garsdale is another railway station closed by British Rail in 1970 but subsequently re-opened to passengers and still in operation

The main, and surviving, station buildings at Dore & Totley were also designed by former Chief Architect to the Midland Railway, John Holloway Sanders.

Edale also has the bulk of its services provided by Northern stopping trains, with a handful of extra calls provided by semi-fast trains from other companies in peak hours

Grindleford is two stations from Sheffield on the Hope Valley line. Two stations from Sheffield on the Midland main line is Chesterfield.

At Chesterfield, there is a statue of George Stephenson, renowned railway builder and engineer, on the station front. Another station which has a statue of a well known railway figure on the premises is Bristol Temple Meads, with a statue of Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

Bath Spa (then known simply as “Bath”) was also opened on 31 August 1840 as part of the Great Western Main Line, with the final section, between Chippenham and Bath opening a year later, allowing through trains between Bristol and London

Dover Priory is another station that retains the suffix to its name despite now being the only main station in the area.
