Was back at Huddersfield station buffet on Saturday, as good as ever. If anyone can beat 2x sausage, 2 bacon, 2x fried bread, 2x eggs, beans, tomatoes, toast and a cup of tea/coffee for £4.75 I'd be very suprised!

The Runaway on the platform at Lewes Station in East Sussex. This has recently won a campaign not to be taken over by a bland national chain such as Lemon Tree.

Anyone know if all the pubs on the TransPennine Trail are still open? Planning to do the whole thing on Friday.

All still open AFAIK but platform access to the Kings Head (Station Tavern) and the Head of Steam, both in Huddersfield, is now severely restricted time wise.
Before 6.00pm the platform doors are kept locked to ensure everyone has to exit via the manned "barriers" in the main entrance.
Also some evenings and weekends (especially Saturday) doors have remained locked due to "Ale-trailer's behaviour"

They are also normally locked when there is a football or rugby league match on too.

I remember a brilliant afternoon at a beer festival on the platform at Sheringham (NNR). Warm sun, some great beers I had never tried before, regular steam train activity, and an interesting selection of people to talk to - it could hardly get better. Only downside was the lack of public transport back to the village we were staying in, requiring some self-control on my part!

yes I went to that last year.

more like a pub with a railway ...

I didn't know that (the bit about Boddies being brewed by Hydes).

Aye,the real stuff is,and an excellent pint it is as well,in fact if anyone is going to try The Queens,my advice is to have a couple in here and then walk to the Stanley Arms on Liverpool Road, another gem of a pub that serves Holt's.
