Assuming, though, you're a fan of early starts/late finishes you could always do an early run from Ash Vale into London, get on the first limited-stop Pendo to Glasgow, come straight back and finish the same night in Ash Vale. 802 miles on 390s plus the other bits to/from Ash Vale.

But even I have done the first limited stop Euston to Glasgow (10:29), even though I started the day off in Manchester..

Although off topic as it doesn't start from Ash Vale, seeing others have said what they would do, i'll chip in...

Code:
                     06:17 MAN
                  09:44 10:29 EUS
                  14:54 15:10 GLC
                  18:31 18:42 CRE
                  19:21 19:24 MAN
                  20:59 21:18 BHM
                  23:02 MAN

However, I don't personally reccomend this to anyone, as I personally can't cope with being on a Pendolino for longer than 4-5 hours, without tilt sickness kicking in....

A Super Voyager however, would be perfect, as I can enjoy the thrash, the tilt, and still not feel ill...

Of course, the one I don't think anyone's mentioned is the big NXEC HST diagram. 0710 LDS - ABD, 1450 ABD - KGX, 2330 KGX - LDS. Something like 1,060 miles. It's the one I plan to do later this year, with the addition of TPX moves on top (03xx Manchester Airport to Leeds and 03xx Leeds to MAN) for the purposes of getting to/from the mileage move.

Trying to start a massive mileage day from Ash Vale is a pain in the neck, as it's a bit out of the way from where the long-distance trains operate.

EDIT: I'd be up for trying to do that plan of yours voyagerdude220. Might need a lot of batteries mind!

I didn't think you did MTU's and the chances are you are going to drop a pair on most NXEC trains in the summer as they get down the fleet, 1000 odd miles in bent stock with bent PC's doesn't appeal to me

 You clearly need help, sir, if you don't like Super Voyagers. ;)

They are okay as a taxi ride to get somewhere but I wouldn't go out 'bashing' them, I was refering more to the comment about thrash to be honest, definatly one thing you don't get on a voyager, unless it's dire smelling toilet thrash???

Nope, I was reffering to that great, big 750 BHP Cummins engine which is fitted to each carriage ;)

Which ain't very loud and sounds crap compared to the EE 12CSVT power units inside premier traction....

I assume your hearing is going a bit, with all this loud noise being emitted by these other engines you mention

I have my new priv now.

Yes, I can do over 800 without paying for stuff. The trip would only take up one box if it was done in less than 2 days.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't realise you quoted the sleeper thing. But I can get over 800 miles without the sleeper.

I thought you have to tick a box per individual trip?

For example, say you get a NEEC service to Glasgow from London, then decide to come back down via VWC. That would officially take up two boxes would it not?

1Axx 0830 Stafford-Euston (07xx from Liverpool)
1S57 1045 Euston-Glasgow
1Mxx 1650 Glasgow-Euston

make sure there are no skodas out and jobs a goodun!! :D

You are behind the times then, I do MTUs. Sick to death of having to repeat this time and time again...

Besides, there will be Valentas on some of the Holidaymakers this summer, just not a lot! But merr.

As for your comments re: 221s, they are cool. Nothing compared to HSTs, 37s or whatever, but in terms of modern stock they aren't bad.
