Is metro guard with SWR considered a safe career? Any help is appreciated thinking of applying.
I would say yes - even if the government gets its way there will be a second personIs metro guard with SWR considered a safe career? Any help is appreciated thinking of applying.
forgive my ignorance i assumed commercial guards would be more secure as they sell tickets as well as other guard duties. what makes them less secure than metro guards where some would say there is the biggest case for DOOAgreed. More so than commercial guards
Drivers do not want to move a train without a guard though! This 1 pay-rise is not a real possibility, metro guards are safe for a few years i’d say!Depots with metro guards are only ever 1 driver pay deal away from extinction really, whether the treasury would offer the 10+ percent it would require is another question. Comm guard is a safer role, which you could move in to at all depots except Wimbledon and strawberry hill.
SWR driver recruitment has moved towards external off the street trainees taking up more than half a course with no ties to current working practice. They also took on a load of qualifieds from Southeastern and southern in the qualified recruitment drive post pay deal. Money talksDrivers do not want to move a train without a guard though! Regardless of running out of time, did you submit it?Just applied for metro guard, passed the first customer service online assessment but ran out of time on the numerical test after. Does this mean I've failed or am I still in the running. TIA
