Hi,
I have an interview for TFL for a CSA position . It was advertised through their website but though an agency Hays. I just wanted to know has anyone here have any experience of working through a agency . It is a hourly paid job is it worth it ?

As an ex recruitment consultant before joining the driving grade I’d like to give my two pence.

Make sure you explore exactly what the process is and if/when you’ll be made permanent staff; If you’re able to join a union; issue reporting procedures etc.

If it’s a step on the ladder for you joining the Railway and there’s no other direct vacancies at the moment- then give it a go.

I hope this helps and I wish you the very best of luck.

I would check who exactly you are expecting to be working for and in what role. London Underground do not use agency staff to cover operational roles, although third party recruitment firms are used for high-volume campaigns, but the successful candidates would not be employed as agency staff but would be employed directly by London Underground Ltd.

If the job is with TfL, then I would check exactly what you are expected to be doing, TfL do use agency staff to do things such as staff the call centres but these are not what I would describe as "railway" jobs. It is also possible that you could be working on behalf of a third party operating services on behalf of TfL.
