how hasn't 115 not run out of fuel yet?175113 and 175115 are still sitting in the sidings just next to the bridge which the line from Chester to Manchester goes under!
Should add that 175115 has been sitting there running at least one engine for weeks now!

There should still be the 5th carriages for the Mk4 sets therePast Landore yesterday seems the removal of the remaining mk4 stock has freed up space for more 175's, it seemed chocker block with them when I passed.
Could not make out any MK4's as there was an abundance of 175's, that's not to say there was no MK4's lurking out of sight somewhere. The past few months the remaining MK4's were normally stabled in the sidings close to the main line but they seem occupied by the 175's. Saying that the increasing vegetation doesn't help visibility when one is passing by train, I well remember the days when the whole depot was unobstructed both front and to the rear along the avoiding line. There should still be the 5th carriages for the Mk4 sets there
Yes, there are some sat with the Voyagers looking a dreadful stateThe units left up at Holyhead are all receiving attention in preparation for hand back.
Some MK4s have gone to Bristol Barton Hill by road reported on the MK4 thread last week
Shows how big the fuel tanks are if it takes weeks to empty idling.Looks like 175115 has finally run out of fuel it was quiet this evening when I went past and no lights on the unit anymore!
Why was it idling for weeks?Shows how big the fuel tanks are if it takes weeks to empty idling.
Why was it idling for weeks?
One things for sure it was a waste of fuel and bad for the environment, weeks idling no productive use that's absolutely ridiculous.Shows how big the fuel tanks are if it takes weeks to empty idling.

Would have been easier just emptying the tank and re using the diesel in another unit must have been a genuine mistkae. One things for sure it was a waste of fuel and bad for the environment, weeks idling no productive use that's absolutely ridiculous.
A very expensive, costly mistake, surely?Would have been easier just emptying the tank and re using the diesel in another unit must have been a genuine mistkae.
I beg to differ! Gloucester to Cardiff is taken over by 170s, makes a nice change when a 150 or a 158 turns up at Gloucester!Heres 170208 at Cardiff Central last night on the 1943 service to Maesteg. These units will definitely be missed
Interesting, why would he do that ?we can assume he wasn’t instructed to do that, so, if he had have gone and switched it off and it was running for a reason then, he’d be in trouble.I must say I was surprised that the driver who parked up 175113 in front of it didn't notice and shut down 175115! 175115 was on its own there for at least a week!
Perhaps, though my experience with certain trains that aren't 175s is that they can be put in such a condition that the timer doesn't operate.I'm pretty sure that once the driver takes the driving key out, after a while the units engines will shut down. Therefore keeping the unit running must have been deliberate, as drivers don't just forget to key out of a train.
Great, I'll see it at Nuneaton then..Thanks for the info!175110 has just passed the Crewe cameras. A person on the Railcam chat says it's on the way to Ilford for some work to be done to it.
Not sue how you can prefer a 150 to the superior ride quality and comfort of a 170, a 158 yes, a good alternative.I beg to differ! Gloucester to Cardiff is taken over by 170s, makes a nice change when a 150 or a 158 turns up at Gloucester!
Gosh, one can tell from this that you're not served by the 150s regularly. As someone who gets solely 150s at the local station, I cannot wait for them to pee off elsewhere!I beg to differ! Gloucester to Cardiff is taken over by 170s, makes a nice change when a 150 or a 158 turns up at Gloucester!
Oh believe me I am, I'm Cardiff born and commuted daily on them to and from college!!Gosh, one can tell from this that you're not served by the 150s regularly. As someone who gets solely 150s at the local station, I cannot wait for them to pee off elsewhere!
I arrived at Cardiff Central at 1502 to see the 150 on the 1449 to Manchester sat in Platform 2, delayed until 1529. God knows why. Yesterday my 150 to Cathays broke down on Platform 6 for 20 minutes until maintenance managed to fix it. Perhaps TfW are beginning to neglect those in the same way they did the 175s.
Probably just getting old and not used to as much long distance work (both towards Manchester & also towards Holyhead).I arrived at Cardiff Central at 1502 to see the 150 on the 1449 to Manchester sat in Platform 2, delayed until 1529.
