@pontia and @Rhian thanks both, you have helped settle my nerves a little. Guess I will find out soon enough either way. Good luck to both of you guys with interviews.
I had my interview Wednesday. They were really friendly and made it comfortable. They ask me a couple of questions that I didn’t prepare for so I don’t think I would have got it but hopefully will hear the news today! best of luck in your interview!

Hi just wondering any clues to the questions that they were asking that you didn't prepare for?

HELP PLS. I have been invited to an assessment day next Thursday @ Chester so trying to do as much prep as I can. Am I right in thinking this will just be the paper and pencil tests? Or will it also be the perception, vigilance and hand co-ordination tests with a computer as well? Or could it potentially be the SJE & MMI as well if you pass the others?
The email says it could last up to 3 hours. Thanks.

Just to let you all know I’ve just had my interview, wasn’t half as bad as I was expecting, the interviewers are very friendly and really put you at ease. Good luck to you all awaiting interview dates or with interviews coming up soon

I had mine a good few weeks ago now and felt the same, felt like it went fairly well. No heard anything back yet, but I know how slow railway recruitment can be especially in the current circumstances so just waiting! Good luck though!

Mostly general, why do you want the role, what do you think the role involves as well as giving examples of different scenarios related to customer service etc. Questions you expect them to ask really. Good luck!

Definitely practice and find some good examples to put in the STAR technique (Situation, Task, Action, Result) as that is the best way to answer a lot of the “when have you.. etc” questions.

All I can advise is to get a bit of practice in before you sit the actual test and make sure you’re relaxed and it’s quiet when you do it. There is a link on this forum where you can download a practice tool.
What are the sample questions of the raat?

Good afternoon all,

I've been lucky enough to pass the SCAAT test for the TFW Conductor role.

I've now been informed that I need to take the RAAT test.

Can anyone recommend any online practice material for this?

Do you have to complete all questions, or is it like the SCAAT where it's quality over quantity?

Many thanks.
Hey.... Did they use theOpc website or a different one?

Have you done the tests?

I used the group bouden tool on here to practice before scaat, it’s on one of the pinned posts. I didn’t practice for the RAAT, it’s more reading and answering questions so not a lot you can practice really

I have done all of the tests, and been told that next step is interview, though I am awaiting the hiring managers availability for when this will be.

Nope still waiting, but I have heard that there’s no new courses now until next year so am thinking it will be after Christmas

I had my interview at the end of July and still haven’t heard either way whether it was successful or not, other people on here had a no for the same position so I’m still clinging onto that slight bit of hope… as I also heard it was into the new year for courses. Fingers still crossed!

I’m guessing that this means that you passed the interview so congrats.

Did they say what the remaining steps are when you spoke with them, is it just that you need to be signed off with a medical, or are there further things needed?

I'm pretty sure its just a medical now which will be near course start date. Have you had your interview yet?

Nope, got mine in a few weeks. Just trying to get an idea of how much longer it will take after that (on the assumption that I pass the interview).

I was told at my interview that all courses are full until January so it will be after that. Good luck for you interview. Found out that I’ve made it into the talent pool for Cardiff :)

Has anyone had a date for their medical yet? I had a phone call on 1st November saying that they will be in touch in a few weeks to book it and are looking at the end of February for the course date.

I still haven’t heard anything after passing the interview around the same time as you. What depot did you say you had applied for?
