Clitheroe (long wait)
Ramsgreave & Wilpshire
Did you mean to say Lostock Gralam, which is on the Mid Cheshire Line, when we are currently on the line between Preston and Blackburn?
Perhaps a question for the quizmaster/adjudicators regarding this rule:
Points are deducted from the leg if a deadlock is reached before the penultimate move of a leg - if no-one posts this move within 3 hours then 20 points are deducted, and a further 20 are taken 3 hours after that. (This rule will not be enforced in the early morning from midnight to 9am, and a leg will never score negative points.)
Am I right in assuming that the eventual winner then loses points due to the competitors reaching a deadlock?
I think not...
I have been with this quiz since 2011 (being one of three Senior Adjudicators until I relinquished that role due to ill health at the end of 2015) and whilst the rules were re-written a few years later by the forum quizmaster team after a long period of consultation with the named quiz adjudicators, the matter that you mention above of points deduction in the time period(s) named has never changed. The actual leg-winner could well pay the price of other contributors not making postings for whatever reasons they had at the time.
Heysham Port (bonus)
Are there any fast non-stop services from here to any station not already named?
I'd assume that to be a win
Thanks for that. I did find two services:-
Sundays only, Morecambe dep. 1243....Heysham Port arr.1258
Monday..........Morecambe dep, 1302...Heysham Port arr. 1317
The next leg will start at Burley-in-Wharfedale
Can someone confirm whether services run direct non-stop from Baildon to Saltaire. with no stopping en-route at Shipley
