We then board the 1830 D&G Bus service 88 to Wilmslow (Bank Square), arriving there at 1939 on Wednesday evening.
Must confess I'm a little confused here. Carno Street is a dead end that goes onto Picton Road, not Smithdown Road, which is served by the 60. Is Picton Road the road we're on?Time to take advantage of the overnight travel relaxation rule, so we take the five minute walk to the bus stop near Hedgefield Road on Childwall Valley Road and there board the 0508 Arriva North West service 79 to Wavertree ( the bus stop adjacent to Carno Street on Smithdown Road) that arrives at 0520 on Thursday morning.
The tram stop is the other side of the centre, outside Selfridges on Barton Dock Road. Google Maps states it's an 8 minute walk, so on that basis, the next tram we could catch from there would be the 1906 that arrives at Imperial War Museum at 1917. Both Google Maps and Bus Times list precise departures for all Metrolink services. From the nearby Trafford Centre tram stop we board the Manchester Metrolink Trafford Park line. Assuming an average wait time for a tram (as TfGM do not appear to publish preciese departure times), we arrive at Imperial War Museum at 19:14 on Thursday.
